NCT ID: NCT03763825 Not yet recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Mini-AFTERc Intervention for Fear of Cancer Recurrence

Mini-AFTERc
Start date: June 13, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

People treated for breast cancer often live with an ongoing fear that the cancer will recur. This fear may develop and impact on their mental health and quality of life. The Mini-AFTERc study is a pilot trial of a brief cognitive behavioural communication intervention, designed to reduce fear of cancer recurrence (FCR) in breast cancer patients. This pilot trial aims to determine the acceptability and practicality of introducing the Mini-AFTERc intervention into everyday practice, and inform the development of a full randomised controlled trial.

NCT ID: NCT03763396 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Brain Tumor, Recurrent

Azoles Targeting Recurrent High Grade Gliomas

Start date: June 1, 2024
Phase: Early Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

High-grade gliomas are the most common and aggressive type of brain cancer. Scientists don't fully understand how they grow and spread, and treatments haven't improved much in recent years. However, it's been discovered that these cancers rely heavily on using glucose to maintain their cancerous traits. In lab tests, drugs from the azole class, which target a key step in glucose metabolism, have shown promise in reducing tumor growth in these cancers. Researchers now want to test two of these drugs, ketoconazole and posaconazole, in patients with recurring high-grade gliomas. A small group of these patients will receive either one or several doses of these drugs before undergoing surgery. During the surgery, doctors will measure how much of the drug is present in the brain. They will also study how the drug affects the tumor, particularly its ability to process glucose. This research aims to provide initial insights into how these drugs work in patients with this type of brain cancer, which could guide future research and treatment strategies.

NCT ID: NCT03748875 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Methamphetamine-dependence

The Effect of Mindfulness-based Relapse Prevention on Impulsive Control Circuit Among Methamphetamine Dependents

Start date: May 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Amphetamine-type stimulants (ATSs) have become the most important medical issue as well as the social problem. Compared with traditional drugs, ATS are highly neurotoxin and can induce cognitive deficit and psychotic symptoms. Due to lack of efficient medical treatment, psychotherapy and behavioral interventions are the main treatment strategies so far. Mindful-based relapse prevention (MBRP) which combined mindfulness with relapse prevention skills, as a novel intervention, has been widely used in prevent craving and relapse among addictions. While the current research of MBRP mechanism focus on emotion regulation circuit, and there was no study to explore the impulsive circuit, which is the important factor that induce the addiction and relapse. However, there was no report about the influence of MBRP on Prefrontal-striatal circuits. Based on the previous results, the proposed study will focus on evaluating the mechanism of MBRP on prefrontal-striatal circuits, neuropsychological tests and functional MRI will be used to investigate the neurobiological mechanism of MBRP on prefrontal-striatal circuits and related impulsive behaviors.

NCT ID: NCT03638648 Not yet recruiting - Breast Cancer Clinical Trials

Recurrence Score-guiding Chemotherapy in Non-pCR HR Positive HER2 Negative Breast Cancer After Neoadjuvant Therapy

RSBNAT
Start date: November 1, 2019
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The luminal subtype of breast cancer means hormone receptor positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 negative (HR+HER2-), which counted 60%-70% of breast cancer but achieve low pathologic complete response (pCR) rate (7.5%-15%) in neoadjuvant chemotherapy. It is controversial whether additional chemotherapy after surgery is necessary for those non-pCR HR+HER2- patients. Multiple gene is a mature diagnose tool for recurrence score in adjuvant treatment strategy. This study is to investigating the value of multi gene detection tool based recurrence score for guiding additional chemotherapy after surgery in HR+HER2- non-pCR breast cancer.

NCT ID: NCT03629132 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Intrauterine Adhesion

PRP Prevents Recurrence of Intrauterine Adhesions

RPR-IUAs
Start date: August 15, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Effect of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) on uterine scar fibrosis, endometrial receptivity and pregnancy outcome in patients with severe intrauterine adhesions

NCT ID: NCT03623425 Not yet recruiting - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

Comparison of PET With 68GA-PSMA-11 and 18F-Fluorocholine for Recurrence in Men With Prostate Cancer

TEPGALCHOL
Start date: February 1, 2019
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

As choline transport and phosphorylation are upregulated in most cancers, including prostate cancer, positron emission tomography (PET) with choline tracers has found widespread use to detect recurrent disease. However, choline metabolism is not increased in a significant number of cases, probably explaining why this imaging method has been reported to be weakly sensitive and specific fro the detection of prostate cancer lesions, especially at low prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels. By contrast, prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) is overexpressed in most prostate cancer, suggesting that 68Ga-labelled PSMA ligands could be superior to choline tracers. A meta-analysis published in 2016 (Perera M. and al.), which included 18 studies, of which five reported histolopathologic correlation data for 68Ga-PSMA PET-positive lesions, indicated favourable sensitivity and specificity profiles of 68Ga-labelled PSMA ligands compared to choline-based PET imaging techniques.

NCT ID: NCT03597087 Not yet recruiting - Bladder Cancer Clinical Trials

The Difference of Two Year Recurrence Rate According to Anesthetic Method During Transurethral Resection of Bladder Mass in Patients With Non-muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer: Prospective, Randomized, Clinical Phase II Study

Start date: July 19, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The investigators compare the recurrence rate difference between two years after transurethral resection of the bladder tumor according to the method of anesthesia. Anesthetic methods are general anesthesia and spinal anesthesia. Assessment of recurrence is assessed by bladder endoscopy, CT, and pathological examination of surgical specimens.

NCT ID: NCT03572595 Not yet recruiting - Recurrence Clinical Trials

F-18 FDG- PETCT in Staging and Recurrent Colorectal Cancer

Start date: July 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the fourth most frequently diagnosed cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States. The overall relative 5-year survival is about 50%-60% but is highly dependent on disease stage at the time of diagnosis ranging from approximately 80% to only 3%. Curative treatment comprises resection of the primary tumour combined with adjuvant chemotherapy in selected patients. In recent years there has been an increasing role for curative intended surgical or ablative intervention in limited metastatic disease, i.e., solitary or few metastases to the liver and/or the lungs. Accurate preoperative staging is of paramount importance for directing the most appropriate therapeutic options, for indicating prognosis and outcome, and to avoid futile operations.
