Filter by:Immediate skin-to-skin contact (SSC) is already standard care for healthy term newborns, but its use for term or preterm newborns requiring admission to neonatal unit (NICU) with or without respiratory support is challenging. This study aimed to assess the safety and feasibility of SSC during the transfer of newborn infants, using a new purpose-built mobile shuttle care-station, called "Tandem". A monocentric prospective observational study was conducted at the tertiary referral center of the Université libre de Bruxelles in Brussels, Belgium Infants born with a birth weight above 1500g were eligible. Following initial stabilization, infants were placed in SSC with one of their parents and transferred to the NICU using the Tandem.
First aim is to determine the effect of mother and father kangaroo care on the premature baby's Comfort Behavior level and physiological parameters (respiratory rate, heart rate, oxygen saturation and body temperature). Second aim is to determine the effect of mother and father kangaroo care on Parental Satisfaction and Neonatal Intensive Care Parental Stress level. The study was a a randomized crossover study with pretest-posttest design. It was carried out in the neonatal intensive care unit of Selçuk University Faculty of Medicine Hospital in Konya province. Study data were collected from 19 mother and 19 father and their premature newborns between February 2023 and August 2023.
Babies who have been discharged from the neonatal intensive care unit and have difficulty in oral feeding will be identified. Oral Motor Intervention (PIOMI) will be taught to the mothers of these babies and asked to practice. As a result of this application, the change in oral feeding skills in babies and its effect on mother-infant bonding will be evaluated.
Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of singing a lullaby with compassionate touch on early comfort and later on development of developmental support program in premature infants in the neonatal intensive care unit. H01: Singing a lullaby along with touching in the early stages of premature babies in the neonatal intensive care unit has no effect on the comfort score of the babies. H02: Singing a lullaby along with touching to premature babies in the neonatal intensive care unit in the early period and then applying a developmental support program has no effect on the social emotional skills of premature babies. H03: Singing lullabies with touch to premature babies in the neonatal intensive care unit in the early period and then applying a developmental support program has no effect on the language skills of premature babies. H04: Singing a lullaby along with touching to premature babies in the neonatal intensive care unit in the early period and then applying a developmental support program has no effect on the cognitive skills of premature babies. H05: Singing a lullaby along with touching to premature babies in the neonatal intensive care unit in the early period and then applying a developmental support program has no effect on the motor skills of premature babies.
The primary aim of this research is to assess the predictive value of 3D cervical volume and 3D power Doppler indices in predicting pregnancies at risk of preterm labor. Secondary aim: to compare 2D cervical length and 3D cervical length in coronal view for predicting preterm labour.
The goal of this feasibility study is to assess the feasibility to implement a feeding strategy for preterm infants. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Is it feasible to implement the PoP-intervention in a level 3a category Neonatal intensive care unit? - Is the PoP-intervention acceptable for parents of preterm infants and health care personnel working in Neonatal intensive care unit? Parents of preterm infants and health care personnel will be asked to follow a protocol of a feeding strategy based on the preterm infants development and cues throughout the NICU-stay.

Preventing oral feeding delays in preterm newborns remains a stake for NICU nowadays. Indeed, it lengthens hospitalization duration, distorts parent-newborns relationships, and increases the risks of adverse nursing outcomes. Does a routine individualized developmental preventive feeding care implying parents favors earlier autonomous oral feeding achievement in preterm newborns as compared with a standardized routine program of orofacial stimulations, despite neonatal risks that every preterm newborn cumulates during hospitalization stay ?
The study was aimed to examine the effects of fetal positioning during venipuncture on the neonates' pain score and physiological parameters (heart rate, blood-oxygen saturation, body temperature, crying duration) in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). This randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted between 10.2021-07.2022 with 60 preterm neonates, aged 26-32 week of gestation. Neonates were divided into intervention group (n=30) and control group (n=30) according to the randomization method. The neonates in the intervention group were put into fetal positioning at least 10 minutes before the procedure, and then venipuncture was performed. The fetal positioning was maintained throughout the procedure and the patient was kept in the fetal position for at least five more minutes after the procedure. Changes in the neonates' pain score and crying duration as well as heart rate, blood temperature, blood-oxygen saturation at three time points: before the procedure, immediately after needle insertion, five minutes after needle removal. Data was collected using the sociodemographic form, neonatal observation form and Neonatal Pain, Agitation and Sedation Scale (N-PASS). The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS 15 software. The main questions it aims to answer: 1. Does fetal positioning have an effect on pain score of premature neonates? 2. Does fetal positioning have an effect on heart rate of preterm neonates? 3. Does fetal positioning have an effect on oxygen saturation of preterm neonates? 4. Does fetal positioning have an effect on body temperature of the preterm neonates? 5. Does fetal positioning have an effect on the crying duration of preterm neonates?
A pilot prospective single-arm cohort study on the Effectiveness and Safety of Electroacupuncture at ST36(Zusanli) in Treating Primary Premature Ejaculation
