Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) Effect on Large Surface Photodamaged Skin

In this study, 26 patients were selected and included for full-face photodynamic therapy sessions. All patients presented signs of photoaging skin and multiple actinic keratosis. Photographs and Biopsies were taken before and after the procedure. Clinical and histological aspects as well as immunohistochemical aspects regarding neocollagen induction and tumor expression were evaluated.

Efficacy and Safety of Oral Isotretinoin for Cutaneous Photodamage

This is a randomized, comparative, single evaluator-blinded trial to evaluate clinical, histological and immunohistochemical effects of oral isotretinoin plus moisturizer sunscreen as compared to the use of 0,05% tretinoin cream plus moisturizer sunscreen for the treatment of photodamage on face and forearms. Main oral isotretinoin safety parameters will also be analyzed, as well as adverse events related to topical products.

Oral Isotretinoin for Photoaging: Results of a Randomized Controlled Phase II Trial

A clinical and histological randomized controlled phase II trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of oral isotretinoin for treating photoaging was performed with 32 menopausal or sterilized women aged 40-55y. The subjects were included in two randomly selected groups: A- 21 women received 20mg oral isotretinoin 3x week, moisturizer, sunscreen SPF 60 during three months; B- 11 women received only same moisturizer/sunscreen.

Adapalene Gel 0.3% Versus Tretinoin 0.05% Emollient Cream for Treatment of Photodamage
