NCT ID: NCT00047333 Terminated - Clinical trials for Advanced Adult Primary Liver Cancer

Erlotinib in Treating Patients With Liver Cancer That Cannot be Surgically Removed

Start date: August 2002
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of erlotinib in treating patients who have liver cancer that cannot be surgically removed. Erlotinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth

NCT ID: NCT00030511 Terminated - Liver Cancer Clinical Trials

Radiation Therapy and Fluorouracil Before Surgery in Treating Patients With Primary or Recurrent Bile Duct Cancer

Start date: October 2001
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining radiation therapy with chemotherapy before surgery may shrink the tumor so that it can be removed during surgery. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining radiation therapy with fluorouracil before surgery in treating patients who have primary or recurrent bile duct cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00023946 Terminated - Clinical trials for Advanced Adult Primary Liver Cancer

BMS-247550 in Treating Patients With Liver or Gallbladder Cancer

Start date: August 2001
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of BMS-247550 in treating patients who have liver or gallbladder cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die.

NCT ID: NCT00019604 Terminated - Clinical trials for Unspecified Adult Solid Tumor, Protocol Specific

Radiofrequency Ablation in Treating Patients With Unresectable Primary or Metastatic Liver Cancer

Start date: August 1998
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Radiofrequency ablation is a procedure that heats tumors to several degrees above body temperature and may kill tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of radiofrequency ablation in treating patients who have unresectable primary or metastatic liver cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00005997 Terminated - Liver Cancer Clinical Trials

Rebeccamycin Analogue in Treating Patients With Advanced Liver and/or Biliary Cancer

Start date: April 1999
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of rebeccamycin analogue in treating patients who have advanced liver and/or biliary cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00003926 Terminated - Ovarian Cancer Clinical Trials

Amifostine to Protect From Side Effects of PSCT in Treating Patients With Solid Tumors

Start date: November 1998
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining chemotherapy with peripheral stem cell transplantation may allow the doctor to give higher doses of chemotherapy drugs and kill more tumor cells. Chemoprotective drugs such as amifostine may protect normal cells from the side effects of high-dose chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of amifostine in protecting from the side effects of peripheral stem cell transplantation in treating patients who have high-risk or relapsed solid tumors.

NCT ID: NCT00003530 Terminated - Clinical trials for Primary Liver Cancer

Antineoplaston Therapy in Treating Patients With Primary Liver Cancer

Start date: March 21, 1977
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Current therapies for Primary Liver Cancer provide very limited benefit to the patient. The anti-cancer properties of Antineoplaston therapy suggest that it may prove beneficial in the treatment of Primary Liver Cancer. PURPOSE: This study is being performed to determine the effects (good and bad) that Antineoplaston therapy has on patients with advanced Head and Neck Cancer.

NCT ID: NCT00003147 Terminated - Liver Cancer Clinical Trials

Gene Therapy in Treating Patients With Cancer of The Liver

Start date: February 1998
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of gene therapy with the p53 gene in treating patients who have cancer of the liver that cannot be surgically removed. Inserting the p53 gene into a person's tumor may improve the body's ability to fight liver cancer.
