Filter by:The purpose of this research study is to study the relationship between childhood asthma, allergies, and early-life environmental factors that may cause childhood asthma and allergies. Previous birth cohort studies have found early-life environmental factors such as allergies, pollutants, viruses and bacteria have all contributed to the development of asthma and allergies. Investigators are doing this research because there continues to be a strong need to understand the root causes of asthma and allergies. The CANOE study is an observational cohort study, which means investigators are not asking participants or participant's child to change their medications and investigators will not be giving participants or participant's child a study drug.
This study will assess the efficacy and safety of pembrolizumab plus enzalutamide plus Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT) versus placebo plus enzalutamide plus ADT in participants with mHSPC. The primary hypothesis is that in participants with mHSPC, the combination of pembrolizumab plus enzalutamide plus ADT is superior to placebo plus enzalutamide plus ADT with respect to 1) radiographic progression-free survival (rPFS) per Prostate Cancer Working Group (PCWG)-modified Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) 1.1 as assessed by blinded independent central review (BICR) and 2) overall survival (OS). As of 19-JAN-2023, the study was unblinded and all study participants stopped ongoing treatment with pembrolizumab/placebo and will continue to receive Standard of Care treatment until meeting protocol-specified discontinuation criteria if deriving clinical benefit. Safety analysis will be performed at the end of the study; there will be no further analyses for efficacy and electronic patient-reported outcome (ePRO) endpoints collected from participants beyond the IA1 cutoff date. All study participants will stop ongoing treatment with pembrolizumab/placebo. Exceptions may be requested for study participants who, in the assessment of their study physician, are benefitting from the combination of enzalutamide and pembrolizumab, after consulting with the Sponsor. All other study participants should be discontinued from study and be offered standard of care (SOC) treatment as deemed necessary by the Investigator. If enzalutamide as SOC is not accessible off study to the participant, central sourcing may continue. As of Amendment 04, disease progression will no longer be centrally verified, participants will only be assessed locally. As of Amendment 4, Second Course treatment is not an option for participants. There are currently no participants in the Second Course Phase.
This study aims to compare the safety and the compliance to different procedures (A: at home or B: at the hospital) for introducing tree nuts into the diet of patients with Immunoglobulin E (IgE)-mediated allergy to the aforementioned nuts. In parallel, the effectiveness of tree nuts' introduction in respect to tolerance induction compared to the standard care (strict avoidance of tree nuts) will be evaluated.
This research study is studying a combination of hormonal therapy, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy as a possible treatment for metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer. The names of the study drugs involved in this study are: - Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) with a drug of your physician's choice. This may include leuprolide (Lupron), goserelin acetate (Zoladex), or degarelix (Firmagon). - Docetaxel - Nivolumab
Prospective Phase 1 clinical trial providing proof of concept data on boiled peanut oral immunotherapy (OIT) for the treatment of peanut allergy in children. The investigators hypothesize that the proportion of subjects successfully desensitized with boiled peanut OIT is greater than the theoretical placebo rate of 20%.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of enzalutamide plus androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) versus placebo plus ADT in Chinese subjects with metastatic hormone sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC). The study was conducted in two phases: Double-Blind treatment phase and open-label phase.
The purpose of this study is to compare clinical outcomes of patients with self reported nickel sensitivity undergoing primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA) with conventional, standard-of-care vs nickel-free implants. The hypothesis is that patients with a self-reported nickel sensitivity will have similar patient reported outcome scores compared to those patients without reported nickel sensitivity. Therefor the anticipation is for there to be no differences in other clinical outcome measures or functional outcome scores between the two cohorts.
This phase II trial studies how well olaparib with or without tremelimumab works in treating patients with ovarian, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer that has come back (recurrent). PARPs are proteins that help repair deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) mutations. PARP inhibitors, such as olaparib, can keep PARP from working, so tumor cells can't repair themselves, and they may stop growing. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as tremelimumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving olaparib and tremelimumab together may work better than olaparib alone in treating patients with ovarian, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer.
This study evaluates whether tolerance to eggs can be induced in patients through a process of oral immunotherapy. Participants will be randomized into groups receiving oral immunotherapy and a control group that will receive no intervention
This is an observational cohort study of 221 breast-feeding mother-infant dyads delivered at term. The goal of the study is to investigate whether levels of immune-related microRNAs (miRNAs) in maternal breast milk (MBM) influence child atopy risk in the first 12 months, defined as atopic dermatitis, wheezing, or food allergy. Infant exposure to individual miRNA components will be quantified at 0, 4, and 16-weeks after delivery using high throughput RNA sequencing of MBM samples and detailed dietary logs employing the Infant Feeding Practices (IFP) survey. The relationship of individual miRNA exposures (parts per million) and presence/absence of atopy in the 48 weeks after delivery will be assessed, while controlling for environmental exposures (National Survey of Lead hazards and Allergens in Housing), maternal diet, and genetic predisposition. Potential transfer of MBM miRNAs to the infant oropharynx and subsequent impact on immune reactivity will also be explored through RNA sequencing of infant saliva and quantification of cytokine profiles.
