Filter by:This prospective, multicenter, observational study will assess the prevalence of chronic hepatitis D in patients with chronic hepatitis B in Romania and evaluate the efficacy of Pegasys (peginterferon alfa-2a) in patients with chronic hepatitis D. Eligible patients treated with Pegasys according to current medical practice will be followed until 24 weeks after the end of treatment.
Hepatitis C (HCV) infected patients are often in need for an antidepressant. The introduction of Direct Acting Antivirals such as telaprevir has greatly improved treatment outcome of HCV infected patients.Telaprevir has been studied with one antidepressant, escitalopram: plasma concentrations of the antidepressant were reduced by 35% and without dose adjustment this may lead to inadequate treatment of depressive symptoms. There is a need for more data on telaprevir drug interactions with other antidepressants. For a number of reasons, paroxetine may be a good candidate for use together with telaprevir-containing HCV treatment. The interaction between paroxetine and telaprevir has not been studied before.
Proof-of Concept, Open-Label, Two-Stage Study without Direct Individual Benefit The proposed study design consists of two treatment periods and one treatment arm. Treatment Period 1 involves the administration of RBV monotherapy for a period of 8 weeks and Treatment Period 2 involves administration of up to 16 weeks combination therapy with RBV plus HCQ.
The purpose of this study is to determine if treatment with the ELAD System is safe and effective in subjects with severe acute alcoholic hepatitis and Lille score failures (Lille score >0.45).
This study will provide chronic hepatitis C patients with low platelets (less than 75x10^9/L) the opportunity to undergo treatment and possible cure of their virus. The main hepatitis C drugs will be administered as standard of care, with the addition of the study drug eltrombopag. The investigators hypothesize that providing eltrombopag to chronic hepatitis C patients with low platelets (less than 75x10^9/L) will permit the initiation and completion of antiviral triple therapy with boceprevir, ribavirin, and pegylated-interferon.
This prospective, national, multicenter, observational study will evaluate in routine clinical practice the efficacy and safety of re-treatment with Pegasys (peginterferon alfa-2a) plus ribavirin or regimens containing direct-acting antivirals in participants with chronic hepatitis C who failed previous treatment. Participants will be followed for the duration of their treatment (24, 48 or 72 weeks) and for 24 weeks of follow-up.
This observational study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of Pegasys (peginterferon alfa-2a) in patients with chronic hepatitis B who have failed antiviral treatment with nucleoside (nucleotide) analogues. Data will be collected from patients treated according to the current Summary of Product Characteristics and local standard of care and regulations during 48 weeks of treatment and 24 weeks of follow-up.
The risk of severe anemia is increased in patients treated by tri-therapy compared to patients treated by bitherapy. The underlying mechanisms involved in this toxicity remain unexplored but could also depend on the global exposure of telaprevir. The trough concentration or AUC of telaprevir could therefore be a predictive factor of the onset of anemia in patients treated by ribavirin/PEG-INF/telaprevir. The early measurement of telaprevir and ribavirin concentrations could help to manage HCV tri-therapy to improve tolerance and SVR.
Nucleotide anti-viral analogues, including adefovir and TDF, have demonstrated kidney toxicity in HIV/HBV co-infected patients and HBV mono-infected European patients. Investigators suspected similar kidney proximal tubular injury can also occur in HBV mono infected Asian patients receiving TDF treatment.
Analysis of effect of anti-TNFα treatment on HBV reactivation among patients with systemic rheumatic disease, especially rheumatoid arthritis
