Filter by:We conducted a 3-month, randomized, single-blind study in 102 Egyptian NASH patients who were divided into three groups; group 1 included 34 patients received Vit. E 400 mg twice a day, group 2 included 34 patients received UDCA 250 mg twice a day and group 3 included 34 patients received PTX 400 mg twice daily for 3 months. The following parameters were measured both before and after intervention intake; liver aminotransferases (AST, ALT), cytokine and chemokine (IL6 and CCL2/MPC-1), albumin, total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, total cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL, HDL.
This is a Phase 1, open-label, drug-drug interaction (DDI) study of ALT-801 under steady state conditions on concomitantly administered medications in healthy subjects. The study will evaluate the effect of ALT-801 on the pharmacokinetics (PK) of metformin, warfarin, atorvastatin, digoxin, and the combined oral contraceptive (OC) ethinylestradiol/levonorgestrel. The study will be conducted in 3 parts, as described below. Each part will have 2 periods in a fixed sequence, where the first period is without ALT-801 administration and the second is with ALT-801 at steady state.
The principal goal of this study is to determine the efficacy of efinopegdutide in liver fat reduction in participants with NAFLD. The primary hypotheses are that efinopegdutide is superior to semaglutide, or that efinopegdutide is superior to semaglutide by at least 10% with respect to mean relative reduction from baseline in liver fat content (LFC) after 24 weeks.
The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of multiple ION224 doses when administered by subcutaneous (SC) injection for 49 weeks (end of the treatment [EOT]) on non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) histologic improvement and to assess the effect on liver steatosis by magnetic resonance imaging-determined proton density fat fraction (MRI-PDFF), additional changes in NASH histologic features, liver biochemistry tests, and plasma lipid profile.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics of RXC007.
Glucagon is secreted from pancreatic alpha-cells in response to protein-rich meals and during hypoglycemia. A physiological feedback system exists between the liver and the pancreatic alpha cells termed the liver-alpha cell axis and signifies the role between amino acid-stimulated glucagon secretion and glucagon-stimulated amino acid metabolism. Individuals with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease have increased levels of glucagon (hyperglucagonemia) and amino acids (hyperaminoacidemia), which suggests that hepatic steatosis may uncouple glucagon's effect on amino acid metabolism (i.e. reduced glucagon sensitivity). Since hyperglucagonemia contributes to diabetes progression - due to its potentiating effects on hepatic glucose production - hepatic steatosis may create a diabetogenic circle. This study aims to develop and evaluate a test for measuring glucagon sensitivity in humans. The investigators (Associate Prof. Nicolai J Wewer Albrechtsen and Prof. Jørgen Rungby) will investigate whether amino acid metabolism is attenuated in individuals with hepatic steatosis (assessed by magnetic resonance imaging) due to impaired hepatic glucagon sensitivity and if glucagon's effect on hepatic glucose production is intact compared to individuals without hepatic steatosis suggestive of biased signaling.
This is a Phase 2, multi-center, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the safety and efficacy on TVB-2640 in subjects with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Subjects will be randomly assigned toTVB-2640 or matching placebo PO QD for 52 weeks, with the first dose administered on Day 1.
The consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSB) has increased steadily over the past decades, resulting in the dramatic increase of fructose intake as it is one of the main ingredients of artificial sweeteners. Recently, large epidemiological studies have documented the association between a high-fructose-diet and hepatic steatosis, and other metabolic disorders. So it is interesting for scientists to explore the underlying mechanism. This study aims to investigate the effect of dietary fructose and gut microbiota and the hepatosteatosis in healthy men. Serum and fecal metabolomics will be investigated.
This is a Phase 1b multi-center, randomized, double-blind, dose-ranging, placebo-controlled, adaptive study to evaluate the safety, pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD) of TERN-201 in patients with non-cirrhotic NASH.
This is phase 1 first-in-human trial evaluating SRT-015 to assess safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics. This study will be conducted in 3 parts - SAD, MAD and Food Effect with target of 96 healthy volunteers. This will be a single center, Phase 1, randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled, SAD and MAD study of dose escalation cohorts evaluating administration of SRT-015 or placebo. Additionally, PK will be assessed in fed and fasting states.
