Competencies Required by Anesthesiologists Managing Critically Ill Patients

Critical Care Medicine (CCM) has emerged as an independent specialty over the last few decades. Anesthesiologists being perioperative physicians, often practice CCM full time or part-time. Deficiencies have been noted by experts in the Anesthesiology training in certain competencies required for the management of critically ill medical and surgical patients in the Intensive care unit (ICU). This is often compounded by considerable variation in the training curriculum of the Anesthesiologists based on the geographical region and base specialty. The Intensive & Critical Care Medicine Committee of the World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists (WFSA), has developed a preliminary survey of recently qualified Anesthesiologists, to review the existing competencies for CCM in the Anesthesiology curriculum across the globe. The results of this survey will be used to identify the gaps and additional competencies required for Anesthesiologists to practice Critical Care in ICU through expert consensus, using a Delphi process.

The Effect of Privacy Education on Nursing Students' Privacy Consciousness and Attitudes Towards Patient Privacy

This study was conducted in a pre-test-post-test, factorial group randomized controlled experimental design to determine the effect of privacy education on nursing students' privacy consciousness and attitudes towards patient privacy. The universe of the study consisted of the third-grade students (n = 239) registered in Gazi University Faculty of Health Sciences Nursing Department in the Fall Semester of the 2020-2021 Academic Year. All students (n = 239) were evaluated according to the exclusion criteria from the study. The students who met the inclusion criteria (n = 116) were informed about the research. A pre-test was applied to the students (n = 116) who volunteered to participate in the study. According to gender, 116 students were randomly assigned to the control group (n = 38), study group I (n = 40), and study group II (n = 38) by a statistician by computer technique. Data were collected November 2020 and February 2021 using the Informative Features Form, the Privacy Consciousness Scale, The Patient Privacy Scale, and Students' Views on Education Form.

Online Training Program Model for Effective Management of Nursing Services in Times of Crisis Such as Pandemic

This project is designed to determine the experiences of nurses working in healthcare organizations in the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic and their approaches to problems experienced in qualitative design and from these results, a web-based education model is prepared for the effective management of nursing services, to increase the knowledge and skills of manager nurses. It was carried out in a quasi-experimental design. In the qualitative phase of the study, 28 people nurses were included (14 manager nurses and 14 nurses), and 61 nurse managers, including 30 intervention and 31 control group, participated in the randomized controlled quasi-experimental quantitative phase. Qualitative data were analyzed using the "Interview Form" through an in-depth interview method; Experimental data were collected via a pre- and post-questionnaire from nine web-based training videos. Qualitative data were analyzed in the MAXQDA 2020 program, and experimental data were analyzed in the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 21.0 package program. Findings obtained from the qualitative stage; The problems regarding the institution's general management, the problems and approaches experienced by the nurses, and the problems and approaches experienced by the manager nurses were evaluated under three main themes. A pre-test / post-test questionnaire was applied to the intervention and control groups created due to the analysis of qualitative data.

Among people at risk of opioid overdose and receiving care in an academic emergency department, family practice, opioid substitution clinic or general inpatient units, does brief opioid overdose resuscitation training and naloxone distribution reduce resuscitation failures in a simulated overdose even, in comparison with standard-of-care referral to a local OEND program, within 14 days post-intervention? Efficacy of Online Real-time CPR Training

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of a new online real-time quality measurement and feedback video-based CPR training program. The study participants will be allocated to three different CPR training programs: online real-time quality measurement and feedback video-based CPR training program, online real-time feedback video-based CPR training without quality measurement program, and conventional CPR training program. After CPR training, each participant will perform a 6 minute CPR simulation test. The investigators will compare the quality of chest compression between the three study groups. The investigators hypothesize that the new online real-time quality measurement and feedback video-based CPR training program is non-inferior to the preexisting conventional CPR training program and is superior to online real-time feedback video-based CPR training without quality measurement.
