Feasability of Lung Ultrasonography in General Practice

A major barrier to ultrasonography in general practice (GP) is the time restriction of their medical consultation. We aimed to evaluate the feasibility of lung ultrasonography (LUS) realized by general practitioners (GP's) into their medical consultation. A prospective, observational, multi-centric and open study conducted in 3 different centers by 15 GP in France. Patient receiving LUS were recruited from December 2019 to January 2020. GP's were all novices and received a training course by LUS expert before the study. Eight-points LUS exam was recorded, timed, and interpreted by GP's. Among the 111 LUS performed, 110 LUS were interpreted. Time duration was 4 (3-5) min with 13% of LUS superior to 5 minutes. There was no significant difference in time duration after stratification by age. Patients were mainly satisfied after receiving LUS, and 80% of patients had a better understanding about their disease due to US realization. In this first prospective, and multicenter study, involving patients consulting in General Practice, we found that LUS seems to be feasible by GP's in a medical consultation. We showed that LUS can be performed fast enough for a GP consultation, and easy to learn. These findings will need to be valided in a randomized and controlled study.

H1: "Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Status" is higher in mothers who received postnatal hospital-based breastfeeding group training compared to the control group receiving routine care. H2: The level of knowledge obtained according to the "Pre-test Post-test Question Form" in mothers who received postnatal hospital-based breastfeeding group training is higher than before the education. H3: The status of starting and successfully continuing breastfeeding is higher in mothers who received postnatal hospital-based breastfeeding group training compared to the control group who received routine care.

Structured Remote Surgical Coaching to Improve Operative Performance in Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy

Surgical coaching, defined as a constructive relationship that provides objective feedback to individuals about a broad range of factors influencing operative performance, is a key strategy for integrating adult learning theory into the traditionally didactic arena of surgical education. It is gaining momentum as an area of potential growth and innovation, and may become a more meaningful method of ongoing professional development for practicing surgeons. Effective coaching interactions encourage discussion, provide feedback, affirm positive beliefs and challenge pre-existing assumptions. The effectiveness and uptake of coaching interventions in surgery can be influenced by the identity of the coach, and cultural or individual surgeon attitudes. Surgical coaching has been linked to improvements in technical and procedural skills in both simulated and clinical environments. In 2015, a systematic review of surgical coaching showed a positive impact of surgical coaching interventions on learners' perceptions and attitudes, their technical and nontechnical skills, and their performance measures. The investigators propose to conduct a multicenter randomized controlled trial of structured remote surgical coaching (SRSC) versus conventional surgical training for laparoscopic cholecystectomy performed by surgery residents at three institutions, in Canada and Australia, to not only provide additional evidence in support of validity and generalizability of a structured surgical coaching intervention for surgery trainees, but also to demonstrate improvement in accuracy of self-assessment of operative performance and the feasibility of remote coaching.

Community Simulation Utilising Mixed Reality (MR)

The scope of this project is to identify if mixed reality (MR) can support simulating the complexities of differing community environments compared to traditional physical structure simulated environments. Concurrent with this, the aim is to establish if mixed reality can produce a safe learning and reflective environment for community staff to develop their skills. This could potentially improve patient outcome and support healthcare teams to deliver safe effective care. Evidence suggests that simulation based learning improves confidence; although there is limited research available that combines simulation based learning and mixed reality. As mixed reality could provide high fidelity simulations, it is an area which requires much needed research.

Parents with children diagnosed with epilepsy and assessing its effectiveness. Material and Method: The research is a randomized controlled experimental study. An application was made to the Eskişehir Osmangazi University Clinical Research Ethics Committee and the ethics committee permission was obtained with the decision of 13.02.2020 dated 80558721-050.99-E.20230 and 2019-66 decision. Only volunteer participants will be included in the research. Its population study 3-6 years old children diagnosed with epilepsy Eskişehir City Hospital Child Neurology Outpatient Clinic between 01 September 2020 and 31 September 2021. The sample of the research will consist of parents who meet the inclusion criteria. research between these dates. Parents meeting research sample selection criteria The application was randomized as a control group according to the Parent Epilepsy Information Scale. Application group; will use the mobile application the investigators prepared for the parent. Control group will consist of parents who follow the hospital's treatment protocol.
