Effectiveness of the Educator Well-being Program

Using a stepped wedge design (prospective cohort with concurrent controls) among six paired, elementary schools, investigators will implement and evaluate the Educator Well-being Program. The investigators will evaluate whether the process improves organizational-level factors, teacher mental well-being (stress, depression and anxiety symptoms).

Post-operative Pain Management in Children With Supracondylar Humerus Fractures

There are two common and concurrently used strategies for pain management following surgical treatment of supracondylar humerus (elbow) fractures in children: opioids vs over the counter pain medications. The purpose of this study is to determine if ibuprofen and acetaminophen can provide similar or better pain relief compared to ibuprofen and hydrocodone/acetaminophen (also known as Hycet) for this population of children after they have been discharged. If over the counter medications can provide adequate pain relief, then fewer opioid prescriptions would be necessary. This reduces early opioid exposure and decreases unnecessary opioids in circulation.

The specific aims and objectives of this proposal are to: 1. Evaluate a food pantry's weekly food distribution impact on behavioral, social and health outcomes in families. 2. In a subset of families with a child aged 6-17 years, test a pilot intervention offering the following components, with a goal of improving family behavioral, social and health outcomes: 1. Weekly family food packages from the Revere Food Pantry 2. 6-Monthly group sessions that include information on healthy behaviors, chronic disease management and teaching families how to prepare simple recipes based on the food they receive that week from the food pantry.

Interpersonal or community violence is a long-standing health disparity that disproportionately affects African American youth, and suicide is disproportionately increasing among African American youth. This project evaluates the impact of a multisystemic prevention program designed to reduce health disparities in violence by promoting equity in African American youths' experiences in education systems. This intervention has the potential to reduce morbidity and mortality among African American youth, promote overall quality of life, and reduce the societal costs associated with both interpersonal violence and suicidality.

A 90 Day Observational Study as an Extension to the Phase 3,Open Labeled Exploratory Study of RELiZORB

Children with inadequate intestinal absorption due to loss of large amounts of small bowel require intravenous nutrition (feeding through the vein) to sustain hydration and nutrition to avoid starvation and dehydration; however, intravenous (IV) nutrition can lead to complications including liver failure. Tube feeding directly to the small intestine avoids the complications of IV nutrition, but fats are not fully digestible due to inadequate bowel function. We propose to predigest the fat using a small cartridge attached to the feeding tube to allow for rapid absorption with the possibility of reducing or eliminating the need for intravenous nutrition. Goal of the observational study is to determine safety and tolerability of Relizorb Enzyme Cartridge for an additional 90 days after the original trial

Imaging Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction (CMD) Study

Angina is a common clinical symptom of ischemic heart disease, affecting up to 11 million people in the United States alone, and 112 million people globally. Despite this, 4 in 10 patients undergoing elective coronary angiography for angina and ischemia do not have evidence of obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD). This condition of ischemia with no obstructive CAD (INOCA) is associated with high clinical and economic morbidity, as these patients have a higher rate of repeat procedures and hospitalizations, worse quality of life, future adverse cardiovascular events and frequent time missed from work. The overall objective of this study is to develop and validate a non-invasive algorithm for diagnosis and management of patients with INOCA and suspected microvascular dysfunction centered around cardiac PET MPI. A secondary goal of the study is to assess for improvement in patient symptoms, function and quality of life from PET-guided management of CMD in patients with INOCA. This study will take place at Mount Sinai Morningside in the PET and CTunit on the 3rd floor. The sub-study will occur at Mount Sinai Morningside Cath Lab on the 3rd floor. The study will enroll an estimated total of 70 subjects, 12 of which will also participate in the sub-study. The study is estimated to last 2 years.
