There are about 3709 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Thailand. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of this study was to compare the use of lamivudine (3TC) or emtricitabine (FTC) alone vs. continuing a failing highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) regimen in HIV infected children, adolescents and young adults. The study was to see if there were changes in the HIV virus and if there were differences in immune function, viral load and medication side effects between the two groups over 28 weeks. Participants were assigned to either take 3TC or FTC alone or continue on his/her current failing HAART regimen. During the first 28 weeks of this study, if the participant was randomized to the continue HAART arm, he/she was not switched to a different or new, potentially suppressive HAART regimen, but continued on the current failing HAART regimen. However, if continuing HAART, the participant might be switched to a new regimen if their provider felt that it was clinically needed or the participant met certain study endpoints (e.g., drop in CD4, increase in viral load). At the end of 28 weeks, the participant had the choice of remaining on the assigned study group medication(s) or starting a new HAART regimen prescribed by his/her doctor. Then, they would be followed for another 24 weeks to compare the difference in immune function, viral load and medication side effects between the different groups.
This is a non-interventional, prospective study where no visits or additional interventions to the daily practice of the physician will be performed. Glucophage XR® has recently been available in Thailand for the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes. A prospective observational study will be valuable to provide information on the day-to-day experience of using Glucophage XR® in the management of this patient population. The data may provide an insight into the use of Glucophage XR® in routine clinical practice in Thailand.
The primary objective of the study is to evaluate the long-term safety of reslizumab at a dosage of 3.0 mg/kg every 4 weeks for approximately 24 months in pediatric and adult patients with eosinophilic asthma as assessed by adverse events, physical examination findings, vital sign measurements, and concomitant medication usage throughout the study (every 4 weeks), clinical laboratory test results, and measurement of antidrug antibodies.
This Phase II study is designed to determine whether a single 600 mg dose or 400mg/day for 3 days of tafenoquine is efficacious, and well tolerated for clearing P. vivax malaria infection (blood schizontocidal and gametocytocidal activity) and preventing P. vivax relapse (hypnozoite eradication). It will also further establish the safety and tolerability of these doses of tafenoquine.
Recombinant human erythropoietin (r-HuEpo) has been used to treat renal anemia and improve morbidity and mortality in chronic kidney disease. Subcutaneous use of r-HuEpo causes immunogenicity and develops anti-r-HuEpo associated pure red cell aplasia (PRCA). The treatment of anti-r-HuEpo associated pure red cell aplasia is controversial. The investigators aim to evaluate the treatment for anti-r-HuEpo associated pure red cell aplasia in this study.
This open-label, randomized, parallel group study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of obinutuzumab in combination with cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisolone or prednisone (CHOP) chemotherapy versus rituximab (MabThera/Rituxan) with CHOP in previously untreated participants with cluster of differentiation 20 (CD20)-positive diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Participants will be randomized to receive either obinutuzumab 1000 milligrams (mg) intravenously (IV) every 21 days or rituximab 375 milligrams per square meter (mg/m^2) IV every 21 days for 8 cycles, in addition to 6-8 cycles of CHOP chemotherapy IV every 21 days. Participants randomized to the obinutuzumab arm will receive an additional two doses on Days 8 and 15 of Cycle 1. Anticipated time on study treatment is 24 weeks.
All patients were premedicated with oral midazolam 5-15 mg. one hour before surgery. General anesthesia with double lumen endobronchial tube was given. Patient was induced by propofol and fentanyl. Cisatracurium was given to facilitate intubation. Patient was ventilated with 50% oxygen in air. Anesthesia was maintained with propofol and fentanyl in order to keep blood pressure and heart rate within 20% of the baseline. Cisatracurium was given every 30 minutes in order to control ventilation. At the end of surgery, neuromuscular blockade was reversed. In PACU, the I.V. PCA machine was connected to the patient. The setting of PCA was basal infusion of morphine 1 mg/hr bolus of morphine 1 mg with lockout interval 5 minutes and 4-hour limit 30 mg.The patient's mean arterial blood pressure, heart rate were recorded before induction, before intubation, at 15, 15, 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes after intubation, and at 4, 8,16 and 24 h after surgery. The total amounts of fentanyl, propofol and magnesium sulphate were recorded. The time between the cessation of magnesium sulphate and extubation was recorded. The amounts of morphine usage at 4, 8, 16 and 24 hours after surgery were recorded. Pain score was evaluated at rest and deep breath and sedation score at 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 16 and 24 hours after surgery using numeric rating scale (NRS). Sedation score was graded as 0 = fully awake, 1 = somnolence, responds to call, 2 = somnolence, responds to tactile stimulation, 3 = asleep, responds to painful stimulation. The times that the patient first sipping, taking food, sitting at the edge of bed and walk with help were also recorded. The side effects such as nausea, vomiting, pruritus and respiratory depression were recorded. Cost effective analysis was also evaluated.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of inotuzumab ozogamicin plus rituximab in relapsed/refractory aggressive Non-Hodgkin lymphoma patients who are not candidates for intensive high-dose chemotherapy. Specifically, the goal is to demonstrate the superiority of this combination compared with an active comparator arm (investigator's choice of rituximab+bendamustine or rituximab+gemcitabine) using the primary endpoint of overall survival.
To determine whether intraoperative tight glycaemic control can reduce postoperative infection, morbidity and mortality
Falls are a common problem in elderly people which they have to receive the operation. Hemiarthroplasty is one of the common orthopedics operations. The prompt operation and good pain control will provide the good recovery and outcome. The investigators compare the efficacy of postoperative pain control between Intrathecal morphine 0.1 milligrams (mg.) with the local infiltration of 0.25% Bupivacaine for 20 milliliters (ml.) in patients received hip hemiarthroplasty under spinal anesthesia.
