There are about 2656 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Puerto Rico. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
This is a phase 3, single arm, open-label study evaluating the effectiveness of TOL2506 to suppress ovarian function in premenopausal women with HR+, HER2-negative breast cancer. The study will also aim to assess the safety of TOL2506 in men with HR+, HER2-negative breast cancer. The Screening Period will be conducted in two parts: 1) an abbreviated, initial screening where premenopausal status will be determined prior to neoadjuvant or adjuvant chemotherapy (if planned) and 2) the full screening assessment conducted after neoadjuvant or adjuvant chemotherapy (or for subjects who enter the study without having received chemotherapy). Following the Screening Period, eligible subjects will enter into the 48 week Treatment Period in 1 of 2 groups: those who will receive tamoxifen concurrently with TOL2506 or those who will initiate therapy with an AI (letrozole, anastrozole, or exemestane) beginning 6 weeks after the first administration of TOL2506, upon confirmation that estradiol (E2) levels of < 20 pg/mL (testosterone levels < 50 ng/dL in males) have been achieved. After Week 12, subjects will be allowed to switch from receiving an AI to receiving tamoxifen or from tamoxifen to AI at the discretion of the Investigator. However, a switch is not permitted 28 days prior to a dosing visit (eg, Week 24, 36, and 48 where a pre-dose blood sample for PK and PD analysis will be drawn). At the end of the Treatment Period, upon completion of the End of Study Visit (Visit 9, Week 48) subjects may be eligible to participate in a Safety Extension Study under a separate Protocol.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness, safety and tolerability of Afimetoran in participants with active Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE). The extension period will provide additional long-term safety and efficacy data and enable those participants initially randomized to placebo to receive treatment with Afimetoran.
This study will compare the effects of AXA1125, an orally active mixture of amino acids, compared to placebo, on improving fat and inflammation (steatohepatitis) as well as fibrosis in subjects with non alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). as well as the safety and tolerability of AXA1125. Subjects will take one of two different doses of AXA1125 or a placebo twice daily, and a liver biopsy will be done at the beginning and end of the 48-week study.
This Phase 3 study is conducted to evaluate lanifibranor in adults with NASH and liver fibrosis histological stage F2 or F3
Semaglutide is a medicine studied in patients with NASH. Semaglutide is a well-known medicine, which is already used by doctors to treat type 2 diabetes in many countries. Participants will either get semaglutide or a dummy medicine - which treatment participants get is decided by chance. Participants will need to inject themselves with medicine under the skin. Participants will need to do this once a week. The study will last for about 5 years. Participants will have up to 21 clinic visits and 9 phone calls with the clinical staff during the study. Some of the clinic visits may be spread over more than one day. Participants with other chronic liver diseases cannot take part in this study. Women cannot take part in the study if they are pregnant, breast-feeding or plan to become pregnant during the study period.
The purpose of this study is to explore the outcomes, tolerability and safety of 2 different doses of oral pantoprazole (full healing dose, half healing dose), assigned based upon weight, for the maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis in pediatric participants aged 1 to 17 years with endoscopically-confirmed, healed erosive esophagitis.
The reason for this study is to see if the study drug, selpercatinib, compared to placebo is effective and safe in delaying cancer return in participants with early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), who have already had surgery or radiation. Participants who are assigned to placebo and stop the study drug because their disease comes back or gets worse have the option to potentially crossover to selpercatinib. Participation could last up to three years.
This is a Phase II study designed to investigate if the Covid 19 vaccines are capable of eliciting production of antibodies against S protein of Sar-S-Cov-2 virus among patients with medical history of cancer previously treated with monoclonal anti CD-20 antibodies. The antibody production is defined based on the detection of antibodies in the serologic Covid-19 rapid test against S protein or with semiquantitative assay when it becomes available.
Bipolar disorder is a severe chronic mood disorder that affects up to 4% of the adult population and 1.8% of the pediatric population in the United States. The treatment of the depressive episodes of bipolar disorder in the pediatric population has not been as widely studied as the treatment of depressive episodes in bipolar disorder in adults, therefore pharmacotherapeutic options are limited. Given the change in disease state and safety demonstrated in adults with depressive episodes associated with bipolar I disorder, the purpose of this study is to evaluate the change in disease state and safety of cariprazine in the treatment of depressive episodes associated with bipolar I disorder in the pediatric population. Cariprazine is an approved drug for the treatment of depressive episodes in adult participants with bipolar I disorder. Study doctors put participants in 1 of 2 groups, called treatment arms. There is a 1 in 2 chance that a participant will be assigned to placebo. Around 380 Participants ages 10-17 years with bipolar I disorder will be enrolled in approximately 60 sites worldwide. Participants receiving the study drug will receive Dose A or B of Cariprazine based on age and weight. At Week 3, participants with insufficient response will have their dose increased to Dose B or Dose C, while participants with sufficient response will continue receiving the Dose A or B for the remainder of the treatment period. The treatment period will be followed by a safety follow-up (SFU) period for 4 weeks. There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend regular weekly visits during the study at a hospital or clinic. The effect of the treatment will be checked by medical assessments, blood tests, checking for side effects and completing questionnaires.
Guanabana, known also as Graviola or Annona muricata is a tropical fruit which has been commonly used as complimentary/alternative medicine in Latin American countries. The main compounds in Graviola are the annonaceous acetogenins. These acetogenins have been shown to be selective and toxic against various types of cancer cells in-vitro and in-vivo experimental animal models. In spite of this evidence of anti tumor activity of Graviola, no prospective clinical studies have been carried out to determine if it also has clinical activity. The Investigator have observed two patients at Auxilio Mutuo Cancer Center who experienced significant tumor shrinkage while taking a tea made of Graviola leaves. Neither of these patients were taking any other treatment for their cancer. The investigator propose to conduct a study using guanabana leaves extract in patients with Gastroesophageal junction(GEJ) adenocarcinoma, as well as in Gastric adenocarcinoma, Hepatocellular carcinoma, Pancreatic adenocarcinoma, Low Grade Lymphomas and Colorectal adenocarcinoma.
