This is a Phase 3, parallel group, placebo-controlled, double-blind, confirmatory study in patients with CINDU, with an optional Open-label Extension (OLE). The purpose of the core period (52 weeks of treatment) of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of remibrutinib (LOU064) vs. placebo in adults suffering from CINDU inadequately controlled by H1-antihistamines (H1-AHs). The purpose of the OLE period is to collect long-term efficacy, safety, and tolerability data on remibrutinib in participants after having completed the Core period
Following completion of orthodontic treatment, prolonged retention with either part-time or full-time wear of retainers is crucial in preventing relapse. Clear thermoformed retainers (TFR) are easy to fabricate and popular among orthodontic patients. With the advent of digital orthodontics and the development of biocompatible photopolymerizable resin, it is now possible to fabricate direct 3D-printed retainers. The aim of this study is to determine and compare the post-treatment stability of dentition, changes in thickness and mechanical properties of the retainers, and oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) of patients wearing direct 3D-printed retainers and conventional thermoformed retainers over a retention period of 6 months.
This is an observational, retrospective postmarket clinical follow-up study and includes all patients who underwent any ophthalmic surgery using Dafilon® suture in the selected centres between 2018 and 2020, therefore no sample size can be given but the planned sample size shall be at least 200 eyes (around 100 patients depending on the number of operated eyes per patient) to conduct meaningful subgroup analysis.
This study aims to examine the feasibility and effectiveness of written behavioural persuasion techniques intervention to encourage treatment initiation and follow-up for hypertension management among the untreated hypertension population of the SEACO cohort.
Central venous catheters (CVCs) are indispensable in modern critical care. However, CVC usage is associated with complications, including central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs), which in turn, is translated to higher healthcare costs and mortality. The use of antimicrobial-impregnated CVCs is one of the strategies to reduce CLABSI. Nevertheless, its' efficacy and beneficial effects, particularly in terms of patients' outcome had not been homogeneously demonstrated across literature. Moreover, antimicrobial-impregnated CVCs are more expensive compared to conventional non-impregnated ones, and hence its cost-effectiveness remains doubtful. To date, no local studies have been conducted to evaluate the efficacy and economic impact of antimicrobial-impregnated CVCs and on patients' outcome. The goal of this clinical trial is to determine the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of antimicrobial-impregnated CVCs in preventing (CLABSI) among critically ill patients in a Malaysia University Hospital Adult Intensive Care Unit. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Is there any difference in CLABSI rates between patients using antimicrobial-impregnated CVCs and non-impregnated CVCs in Malaysia adult ICU? 2. Does the use of antimicrobial-impregnated CVCs in CLABSI prevention in Malaysia adult ICU affect patient length of stay when compared to non- impregnated CVCs? 3. Does the use of antimicrobial-impregnated CVCs in CLABSI prevention in the adult ICU setting affect healthcare costs when compared to non-impregnated CVCs? 4. How antimicrobial resistance features of the bacteria causing CLABSI may differ in patients using antimicrobial-impregnated CVCs compared to non-impregnated CVCs? Patients who require a CVC for critical care in ICU will be recruited and randomly assigned to one of the two different groups to receive either a conventional non-impregnated CVC or an antimicrobial-impregnated CVC, which will be inserted and handled by medical practitioners. Participants will then be monitored for symptoms and signs of CLABSI, alongside length of ICU stay & healthcare costs. Researchers will compare CLABSI rates and other relevant parameters among the 2 groups to see if antimicrobial-impregnated CVCs are useful and cost-effective in CLABSI prevention.
The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the effectiveness of two antiemetic drugs, palonosetron and ondansetron, when given alongside dexamethasone as a preventive measure against early and delayed postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) in adult and adolescent patients with idiopathic scoliosis undergoing posterior spinal fusion surgery under total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA). The main questions the study aims to answer are: - How effective is palonosetron compared to ondansetron, both combined with dexamethasone, in preventing PONV after scoliosis surgery? - Are there any differences in the need for rescue antiemetics, occurrence of adverse effects related to the study drugs, and patient satisfaction between the two treatment groups? Participants in the study will be randomly assigned to receive either palonosetron or ondansetron in addition to dexamethasone as part of their anesthesia and antiemetic regimen. The incidence and/ or severity of nausea, vomiting and retching will be assessed at 1 hour, 4 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours and 48 hours after surgery.
The goal of this randomized phase 2 controlled clinical trial is to study safety, efficacy of S-1 combined DC+CIK maintenance therapy compared with S-1 alone in improving clinical benefit rate (CBR) among advanced PDAC patients. The main objectives aim to be achieved through this study are : 1. To evaluate the safety of DC+CIK combined immunotherapy when administered with the chemotherapy S-1 as maintenance therapy following first-line chemotherapy regime to advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma patients. 2. To demonstrate the superiority of of DC+CIK combined immunotherapy in improving clinical benefit rate (CBR) of advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma patients when administered with the chemotherapy S-1 as maintenance therapy following first-line chemotherapy regime. 3. To investigate the ability of S-1 combined DC+CIK maintenance therapy in reducing pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma patients' circulating cancer stem cells (CSCs). In this study, subjects who achieve at least stable disease or partial response will be randomized in ratio of 1:1 into treatment group: DC-CIK plus S1 (27 patients) and control group: S-1 alone (27 patients). For treatment group, they will be infused with DC first, followed by CIK immune cells on day 1. DC+CIK immunotherapy will be repeated for another 2 times (day 8 and 15) as one cycle. All patients are left to rest for a week (start from day 21) prior to receive another 3 times of infusion (day 28, 35 and 42) if condition allowed. Additional third cycle can be performed on those who tolerate well with no toxicity or respond very well. Patients from treatment group will be assessed for their eligibility to receive booster dose on following conditions: 1) tumour achieves partial response or stable disease and 2) ECOG-PS performance status of 0-2 and 3) doesn't exhibit grade 1 and 2 toxicities to improve tumour control. Additionally, S-1 will be given twice daily after meals for 2 weeks as first cycle along with DC+CIK. Next second cycle of S-1 will be given after 7-days (1 week) rest. The cycles will be repeated every 21 days until disease progression, unacceptable toxic effects, or withdrawal with consent. Dose of S-1 will be determined according to the body surface area. Meanwhile, patients from control group will receive S-1 alone as maintenance therapy twice daily after meals for 14 days (2 weeks) as one cycle. The next cycle of S-1 will be given after 7-days rest. The cycles will be repeated every 21 days until disease progression, unacceptable toxic effects, or withdrawal with consent.
This is a Phase III open-label study to assess if camizestrant improves outcomes compared to standard adjuvant endocrine therapy for patients with ER+/HER2- early breast cancer with intermediate-high or high risk for disease recurrence who completed definitive locoregional therapy (with or without chemotherapy). The planned duration of treatment in either arm within the study will be 7 years.

This is a single-centre, phase II, three-arm, randomised controlled trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a cosmetic moisturising cream containing palm-oil-derived vitamin E concentrate or a similar moisturising cream without the vitamin E concentrate in addition to urea-based cream, or urea-based cream alone (1:1:1) in patients who are receiving capecitabine-based cancer therapy and develop capecitabine-associated PPE of NCI-CTCAE grade 1.
