NCT ID: NCT06113042 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Lifestyle Modification

KeySteps@JC Phase Two Study

Start date: November 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This proposed 'KeySteps Phase Two Study' is a 5-year study, which aims to investigate the effectiveness and sustainability of a Community Child Health Model with different services related to healthy lifestyle programmes and health promotion implemented in community settings of deprived living areas. Potential participants are children studying or living in the five selected districts, namely Sham Shui Po, Yuen Long, Tuen Mun, Sha Tin and Kowloon City. Data including children's health and psychosocial conditions, and family demographics will be collected. In addition, subjects will receive on-site assessments on general health and development. Medical and health related events of subjects will be tracked through the existing health care system. Subjects will receive health promotion services and/or lifestyle modification programmes according to their needs.

Start date: November 14, 2023
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This is a Phase III, 2-arm, randomised, open-label, multicentre, global study assessing the efficacy and safety of neoadjuvant Dato-DXd plus durvalumab followed by adjuvant durvalumab with or without chemotherapy compared with neoadjuvant pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy followed by adjuvant pembrolizumab with or without chemotherapy in participants with previously untreated TNBC or hormone receptor-low/HER2-negative breast cancer.

NCT ID: NCT06109779 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Biliary Tract Cancer

Start date: December 4, 2023
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

A global study to assess the efficacy and tolerability of rilvegostomig compared to placebo in combination with investigator's choice of chemotherapy in participants with BTC after surgical resection with curative intent.

NCT ID: NCT06109363 Recruiting - Insomnia Clinical Trials

A Stepped Care Model to Deliver CBT-I in Community

Start date: October 23, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Insomnia is one of the most common sleep disorders and affects approximately 10 - 40% of the population across different age groups in Hong Kong. Cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) is the first line treatment for adult insomnia due to its comparable effect to medication in short term but is more sustainable in the long run. However, only a few sufferers have received CBT-I, due to limited accessibility, lack of trained sleep therapists, time costing and geographical limitations. To increase CBT-I accessibility, different formats of CBT-I have been proposed. Empirical evidence including ours consistently suggested that self-help digital CBT-I is effective in improving sleep while its augmentation with a guided approach could further enhance the treatment gain. Previous evidence has suggested that although self-help CBT-I could lead to positive outcomes, the drop out rate is quite high and maybe less effective for patients with comorbidity or high level of distress. Thus, a stepped-care approach to CBT-I that utilizes online self help and therapist-guided modes of delivery might be a potential way to facilitate efficient dissemination of effective insomnia treatment resources. The effectiveness of the stepped care model will be evaluated in a real world setting using stepped-wedge cluster randomized controlled design. The program will be rolled out to different districts in Hong Kong sequentially in 18 districts over 4 steps with a eqaully spaced time periods.

NCT ID: NCT06108011 Recruiting - Ileus Postoperative Clinical Trials

Effect of Lollipop on Postoperative Gastrointestinal Recovery in Children

Start date: December 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Postoperative ileus is common in children. There are various method to prevent postoperative ileus. In this study, the investigators will explore the role of sucking lollipop after operation on the recovery of gastrointestinal function in children.

NCT ID: NCT06105723 Recruiting - Ageing Well Clinical Trials

An Effectiveness Evaluation for Pathway to Healthy Aging (Path-HA) Care on Health Status of Older Adults

Start date: January 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to provide a scientific evaluation on the effects of a protocol-driven Pathway to Healthy Aging (Path-HA) Program on promoting the health-related quality of life and functional abilities of older adults who are at risk of accelerated aging in the community. Participants will be randomized to one of the two study arms: 1) the intervention group to receive a 14-week Path-HA care intervention; and 2) the control group with no Path-HA care intervention.

NCT ID: NCT06104462 Recruiting - Healthy Clinical Trials

Exploring the Cortical Hemodynamic Variability of Prefrontal iTBS: a Concurrent TBS/fNIRS Study

Start date: October 18, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

An increasing number of studies have used the intermittent theta-burst stimulation (iTBS) protocol to investigate neural plasticity non-invasively in the prefontal cortex in healthy humans and in patients with psychiatric disorders. However, the variability in the neurophysiological response to iTBS stimulation is high. The cause of this variability is multifactorial and to some degree still unknown. Therefore, the current study explores inter- and intra-individual factors that are potentially moderating iTBS-induced excitability changes. A greater understanding of these determinants would be highly valuable for optimizing the therapeutic application of iTBS.

NCT ID: NCT06100536 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Cognitive Impairment

A Stand-alone Therapeutic Music-with-Movement Programme for People With Cognitive Impairment

Start date: June 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The number of people living with cognitive impairment is increasing at an exponential rate. More than 100,000 older people are living with dementia in Hong Kong. Alarmingly, about 60% of long-term care residents or day-care centre users are living with dementia, nearly all of whom experience anxiety, depression, or other behavioural and psychological symptoms that place heavy demands on healthcare support and jeopardize their quality of life. A standalone Music-with-Movement system is developed by integrating innovative and communication technology to facilitate the delivery of an evidence-based music-with-movement intervention. The technology employed are music library, 6-axis motion-sensing music instruments, wireless charging, and RFID. This study aims to evaluate the changes in health outcomes (cognition, psychosocial well-being and perceived support) of older adults after receiving the service delivered by the trained staff using the standalone music-with-movement system.

NCT ID: NCT06099301 Recruiting - Anxiety Clinical Trials

Mental Health Mobile Apps for Adults

Start date: August 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In Hong Kong, the shortage of mental health professionals has been a public health concern for many decades. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends self-care intervention as one of the most promising and exciting new approaches to improve health and well-being. Rapid development in digital technologies is making population-based self-care interventions possible. The goal of this pilot randomised controlled trial is to provide brief advice of a list of mental health mobile apps for reducing depressive symptoms and anxiety in adults. Participants will be instructed to use three mobile apps for 10 min each day for 30 days. They have freedom to choose which one app to use, or a mix of two or three apps. The Waitlist control group will not receive treatment from the research team during the assessment period. But they will be notified their evaluation results (mild to moderate depression) after they complete the baseline assessment. They will receive the information about mental health hotline services for general public. The hypothesis is that the interventions show preliminary effectiveness in reducing adults' depressive and/or anxiety symptoms.
