There are about 10004 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Brazil. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Women´s period comprises different hormonal stages, being one of them the stage for maximum receptivity and proper embryo implantation. This stage is named window of implantation (WOI), and is characterized by a specific molecular pattern than can be assessed by the Endometrial Receptivity Analysis (ERA® test), developed by Igenomix. Determining the WOI allows to schedule a personalized embryo transfer (pET) when the endometrium is most receptive for the implantation. The main objective of the present study is to improve our knowledge on the endometrial factor in an infertile population with previous implantation failures. To do so, a diagnosis of the endometrial receptivity to determine the WOI (ERA®) and the microbiome (EMMA®) of each participant will be performed, assessing its impact on deferred embryo transfers in terms of reproductive outcomes. Participants will follow their previously programmed IVF/ICSI treatment and, only when one embryo with no major anomalies is reported by PGT-A (Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidies), they will be asked to attend to the specific study visit for endometrial fluid and biopsy samples collection. These samples will be used to determine the patient's WOI (ERA®) and endometrial microbiome (EMMA®). The results of neither of the tests will be disclosed to the patient or the doctor, being only used for the study purpose. After this visit, the patient will follow the pre-established schedule for an embryo transfer and pregnancy assessment.
The primary objective of the study was to assess the efficacy of DA-OTC-002 as a topical cosmetic hair treatment. The investigators conducted a prospective, institution-level, interventional, single-blinded, placebo-controlled investigation to assess the efficacy of a combination an alpha-1 agonist and a TAAR receptor agonist (DA-OTC-002) as a topical cosmetic hair treatment.
Introduction: Most cardiovascular diseases (CVD) can be prevented and controlled by adopting lifestyle changes, such as regular physical exercise and nutrition. Resveratrol and beverage extract promote beneficial health effects due to their nutritional properties. Objective: to analyze the effects of resveratrol supplementation and withdrawal extract on post-exercise recovery in coronary heart disease patients. Methods: men diagnosed with ischemic coronary artery disease will undergo four exercise protocols consisting of 30 minutes of aerobic exercise on an ergometric treadmill, with 5 minutes of warm-up, intensity of 30% of the heart rate reserve (HRR), followed by 25 minutes at intensity 60% of FCR and for a final 30 minutes of recovery in the supine position. Before each exercise protocol, all volunteers will consume: 500 mg of placebo (starch), or 500 mg of beetroot, or 500 mg of resveratrol and will also consume resveratrol and drink (500 mg each) 30 minutes before exercise. , the order of each supplementation will be done randomly. Cardiorespiratory parameters and heart rate variability (HRV) will be assessed at different times throughout the experimental procedure. To analyze the moments (rest versus recovery), the Bonferroni post-test will be used for parametric distribution or the Dunn post-test for non-parametric distribution. Statistical significance will be calculated at 5% for all analyses.
This study aims to evaluate the acute and subacute effects of an inhaled N, N-Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) in patients with partial response in depression.
Patients with post-Covid-19 syndrome are at high risk of developing cardiovascular diseases 12 months after acute infection of COVID-19. We recently revealed that these patients have elevated muscular sympathetic nerve activity (MSNA), vascular dysfunction, impaired cardiac diastolic function, and reduced functional capacity. Considering that these outcomes are independent predictors of cardiovascular mortality, it is urgent to restore the cardiovascular health of these patients. High resistance inspiratory muscle strength training (IMST) at 75% of pressure inspiratory (PImax) performed at home (5 min/session, 5-7 times/week per 6 weeks) reduces the MSNA, improves the endothelial function and lowers blood pressure in different populations. Based on these findings, IMST (75% PImax) is an excellent therapeutic option for patients with post-COVID-19 syndrome. Therefore, the aim of the present proposal is to test whether IMST (75% PImax) reduces sympathetic activity, improves vascular function, and restores cardiac function, evoking an increase in functional capacity in patients with post-COVID-19 syndrome. To test these hypotheses we will conduct a randomized, double-blind, sham-controlled clinical trial to test these hypotheses.
Fall incidents are the third cause of chronic disability in the elderly, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Recent reviews demonstrate that multifactorial and multicomponent intervention programs are effective in preventing falls in community-dwelling older adults. However, the application of these programs may not be accessible to a large part of the elderly population. The lack of continuity in the treatment of the consequences of falls, as well as the dissemination of prevention measures for this patient profile, could be minimized through the use of information and communication technologies. Method: This will be a randomized clinical trial that aims to evaluate the effects of two fall prevention strategies via telerehabilitation for elderly fallers after admission to an emergency room. It will be carried out by a multidisciplinary team with interventions for eight weeks and monitoring of outcomes over a period of four months. Patients will be evaluated regarding aspects of functionality in the second and month after the interventions and regarding the recurrence of falls during the four-month period. Discussion: The hypothesis is that the programs are viable in terms of accessibility to home training. However, to date, there is no evidence about the differences between these forms of interventions to prevent falls via telecare.
This is a Phase III, randomised, multicentre, double-blinded study to evaluate efficacy, safety and tolerability of treatment with zibotentan/dapagliflozin and dapagliflozin alone in participants with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and high proteinuria.
Background: Obesity is chronic disease with high prevalence rates, functional disability and difficult long-term management. Anxiety is one of the most common psychological disorders in obesity, and when associated with other factors such as emotional eating and emotional dysregulation, it impairs treatment and interferes with lifestyle changes. Finding an intervention that improves the eating behavior of these patients and facilitates adherence to obesity treatment, associated with less emotional distress, is of great clinical interest. Objective: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the Mindful Eating (ME) intervention on neurocognitive and behavioral outcomes in patients with obesity and anxiety compared to the control group with exposure to videos promoting quality of life. Methods: A five-weeks randomized clinical trial will be performed with 52 patients in adulthood. The Mindful Eating intervention group will receive an online protocol with one meeting per week. This is a protocol that has been adapted for five weeks and consists of a group intervention with 10-15 participants. Mindfulness, Mindful Eating and Self-Compassion training will be based on the Eat for Life protocol. The control group will receive five videos of psychoeducation, one topic per week. After, all participants will receive lifestyle advices, a first-line "treatment-as-usual" to obesity. There will be a face-to-face assessment with anthropometric, behavioral and biological measurements pre and post-intervention. The outcomes may help in understanding the mechanisms underlying the change in eating behavior, in order to direct new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of anxiety and obesity comorbidities.
Retrospective data collection to evaluate the gas transfer capacity of the Braile Biomédica® OxyPrime® ECMO BRCoating® Membrane Oxygenator in COVID-19 patients during the pandemic.
This is a single-centre, single-blind, non-comparative clinical trial to assess the safety of the investigational product through clinical probability assessment. Thirty-three female participants, aged between 18-45, will be required. Assessment of dermal (dermatological) and gynecological acceptance, in addition to pH measurements and vaginal force collection for microbiological analysis at the beginning and end of the study.
