View clinical trials related to Chronic Periodontitis.
Filter by:The present study aims to evaluate photodynamic therapy (PDT) using Zinc oxide as a photosensitizer as an adjunct to scaling and root planing (SRP) in the management of chronic periodontitis.
A randomized controlled triple blinded study to evaluate the effectiveness of Salvadora Persic (SP) as an adjunct to Scaling and Root Planing (SRP) in chronic periodontitis by comparing the basic parameters of periodontitis, radiographs and bacterial levels with a controlled group (SRP only).
Statins are specific competitive inhibitors of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase, known for its hypolipidemic actions, possessing biologically significant anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, exerts anabolic effects on bone through expression of BMP - 2, have paved way in periodontal regeneration. The present study aims to evaluate and compare the efficacy of subgingivally delivered 1.2% Atorvastatin (ATV) and 1.2% Simvastatin (SMV) gel local drug delivery and redelivery systems as an adjunct to scaling and root planning (SRP) in chronic periodontitis (CP) subjects with diabetes mellitus(DM).
This investigation aims to assess the clinical and radiographic outcomes of intrabony defects treated with minimally-invasive non-surgical therapy.
The quantification of CD163 will be analysed in the subgingival plaque samples of generalized chronic periodontitis patients with and without diabetes mellitus. The demographic and the periodontal parameters were assessed and the correlated with the quantification of the CD163. The CD163 gene expression was analyzed with RT-PCR and the quantification of CD163 will be done using ELISA.
The expression and quantification of Micro-RNA 146-a, was analyzed in the subgingival plaque samples of generalized chronic periodontitis patients with and without coronary heart disease. The demographic variables and periodontal parameters were assessed and correlated with expression of micro-RNA 146-a. The quantification of levels of micro-RNA 146-a was done using Real time Polymerase chain reaction. ( RT-PCR)
Currently, with the increase of bacterial resistance to antibiotics associated with its side effects, it is necessary to find other adjuncts to combat the disease that are an alternative to the use of antibiotics. The use of probiotics has been proposed in the literature as an adjunct therapy for the treatment of periodontal diseases, however, few controlled and randomized clinical studies have been performed. The objective of this double-blind randomized controlled trial will be to evaluate the response of clinical and microbiological periodontal parameters to the comparison of two different adjuvant therapies (antibiotic and probiotic) for the treatment of stages II and III grade B periodontitis.
Study aims to evaluate clinical and radiographic effectiveness of 1.2% Rosuvastatin gel in the treatment of Infrabony defects in chronic periodontitis patients.
The aim of the present study is to determine whether the association of Melatonin and Hyaluronic Acid to the antimicrobial TM paste (3% Tetracyclin and 3% Metronidazole) for periodontal maintenance therapy can improve the attachment level (AL) and alveolar bone support for moderate chronic periodontitis.
The aim of this study is to find out if one blood group phenotype is more responsive than the others to the nonsurgical periodontal treatment.
