RATIONALE: A study that evaluates successful Los Angeles-based, peer-led African American breast cancer survivor support groups may help in developing a guide on how to organize and maintain breast cancer support groups. RATIONALE: Telephone sessions and survivorship booklets may increase knowledge about the psychological and physical impact of breast cancer and increase awareness of available resources. PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial is studying individual telephone sessions given together with survivorship booklets compared with survivorship booklets alone to see how well they work in increasing knowledge about the impact of breast cancer in African American and Latina breast cancer survivors.
RATIONALE: Telephone counseling may help reduce depression and anxiety and improve the well-being and quality of life of cervical cancer survivors. PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial is studying how well psychosocial support works in African-American, Latina-American, or European-American cervical cancer survivors.
RATIONALE: Mindful movement is a self-directed activity of mindfulness (intention, attention, and attitude) and physical movement. A mindful movement program may be effective in improving well-being in older women who are breast cancer survivors. PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial is studying how well a mindful movement program works in improving quality of life in older female breast cancer survivors.
RATIONALE: Telephone counseling after radical prostatectomy may help African American prostate cancer survivors and their intimate partners cope with the problems and challenges of surgery, and may reduce distress and improve quality of life. It is not yet known which counseling and education program is more effective in helping prostate cancer survivors and their partners. PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial is studying effective ways to help African American prostate cancer survivors and their partners cope with challenges after surgery for early-stage prostate cancer.
RATIONALE: A personalized Internet-based program may help improve fatigue, depression, and quality of life in long-term survivors of stem cell transplant. PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial is studying an educational and skills training program for parents of childhood cancer survivors who have neurobehavioral dysfunction.
RATIONALE: White button mushroom extract may stop or delay the recurrence of breast cancer in postmenopausal breast cancer survivors. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of white button mushroom extract in preventing the recurrence of breast cancer in postmenopausal women who are breast cancer survivors.
