NCT ID: NCT05096676 Completed - Clinical trials for Autism Spectrum Disorder

Understanding Oxytocin's Neural and Behavioral Effects in Adolescents Diagnosed With Autism

Start date: August 1, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The investigators explored the neural and behavioral effect of oxytocin on youth with Autism spectrum disorder using magnetoencephalography (MEG). The investigators hypothesize that oxytocin will modulate neural activity to resemble patterns observed in the age-matched control group. Thirty-two adolescents with autism and 26 typically developing adolescents participated in this randomized, double-blind MEG study. Individuals with autism arrived at the lab twice and received an acute dose of intranasal oxytocin or placebo in each session. During the scans, participants were asked to complete several tasks related to social perception - such as identification of social and non-social stimuli.

NCT ID: NCT05077020 Completed - Clinical trials for Autistic Spectrum Disorder

Somatic Diseases in Autistic Children

SDA
Start date: January 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

For many reasons, medical monitoring in autistic patients is very difficult. This study is designed to determine the prevalence of comorbid diseases (neurological, cardiac, digestive, dental diseases…) in patients suffering from ASD to prevent them or diagnose them earlier.

NCT ID: NCT05045339 Completed - Clinical trials for Autism Spectrum Disorder

Ball Exercises and Stereotypic Behavior in Autism Spectrum Disorder

Start date: February 6, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neuro-behavioral disorder associated with repetitive movements. The role of physical therapist towards an autistic child is most neglected one. Therefore, the objective of this study was to see the effectiveness of different ball exercise on stereotypic behavior of children with ASD. Different ball exercises were implemented for 2 months, 3 sessions per week and every session consist of 35 minutes.

NCT ID: NCT05038748 Completed - Clinical trials for Autism Spectrum Disorder

A Pilot Study of Microbiome in Patients With Autism Spectrum Disorder and Their Unaffected Siblings

Start date: January 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The primary aims are to identify important gut microbiota signatures for youth with ASD, to identify dysbiosis features for different levels of ASD features and clinical courses, to search the possibility to intervene the disease course if we can tease out the dysbiosis responsible for the flare-up and improvement of the symptoms of the disease. The secondary aims are to identify the clinical and neuropsychological measures that are associated with direct and indirect regulation or interactions from gut-brain axis signaling, and based our preliminary results on reducing the measures for future large-scale microbiome study in ASD.

NCT ID: NCT05025553 Completed - Constipation Clinical Trials

Oral Administration of Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) for 6 Months in Chronically Constipated Autistic Children

Start date: January 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Many autistic children suffer from chronic constipation. Gut mobilization was obtained administering polyethylene glycol (PEG) at the dose of 6.9 g/d once a day for 6 months in an open trial involving 21 chronically constipated autistic children 2-8 years old, followed prospectively for 6 months. Children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder by DSM-5 and confirmed by ADOS-2 criteria, were evaluated before (T0), 1 month (T1), and 6 months (T2) after intestinal mobilization, recording Bristol stool scale scores, urinary p-cresol concentrations, and behavioral scores for social interaction deficits, stereotypic behaviors, anxiety, and hyperactivity.

NCT ID: NCT05018169 Completed - Depression Clinical Trials

Behavioral Activation for Treatment of Depression in Adolescents With Autism

BA-A
Start date: August 1, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In this study, the investigators will examine the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy of a novel, behavior-based approach for treatment of depression symptoms in adolescents with autism spectrum disorder or ASD (i.e., Behavioral Activation for Adolescents with ASD, BA-A).

NCT ID: NCT05013528 Completed - Clinical trials for Autism Spectrum Disorder

Balance Auditory Vision Training (Bal-A-Vis-X) and Aerobic Training in Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder

Bal-A-Vis-X
Start date: November 11, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

the aim of this study is to compare the effects of Rhythmic Balance, Auditory, and Vision Exercises and Aerobic training in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

NCT ID: NCT05013164 Completed - Clinical trials for Autism Spectrum Disorder

Role of Folinic Acid in Improving the Adaptive Skills and Language Impairment in Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder

Start date: October 1, 2020
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

No such study has been conducted in Pakistan so the primary objective of this study was to determine the role of folinic acid in improving the speech and adaptive skills while secondary objective was improvement of stereotype movements and hyperactivity in ASD among children aged 3 to 14 years.

NCT ID: NCT04994613 Completed - Anesthesia Clinical Trials

Use of an Adaptive Sensory Environment in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Patients in the Perioperative Environment

Start date: September 20, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objective of this study is to prospectively examine the preoperative anxiety scores of ASD patients in an adaptive sensory environment. Additionally, the investigators aim to determine the relationship of severity of sensory integration in ASD patients and their preoperative anxiety scores. The study will also study the family satisfaction with tailored care of their ASD child in the peri-operative environment.

NCT ID: NCT04992169 Completed - Clinical trials for Autism Spectrum Disorder

Clinicianless Training in Autism Treatment: An Adaptive Online Parent Education Program

Start date: August 23, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This project will examine the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy of using a smartphone app-based parent training program focused on early autism intervention strategies.
