Filter by:The present study will investigate a set of biomedical sensors with a wireless data communication system and evaluate the sensors' recording quality. The sensors and wearable wireless system have been approved by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for recording Electrocardiography (ECG), Trans Thoracic Impedance (TTI), Heart Sounds and Acitigraphy. The sensors and wireless system will be used along with conventional sensor systems (as intended to be used).
The use of propafenone and propranolol in children during clinical treatment was depending mostly on experience. Besides, there was no recommended dose for children in drug instruction. Therefore, the investigators' aim is to study the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics in children.
To acquire, amplify, digitize, and record atrial intracardiac electrophysiology signals during cardiac electrophysiology studies for the treatment of persistent atrial fibrillation and to use the recorded data to test the performance of an signal complexity visualization algorithm.
The purpose of this study to determine the prognostic value of the Selvester QRS score for perioperative myocardial injury following elective non-cardiac surgery.
Patients with various cardiac conditions (such as those who experience a heart attack) are increasing in Canada and are in need of appropriate cardiac rehabilitation and care. Many patients do not have access to local in-person cardiac clinics, particularly in rural regions of Canada. A user-friendly digital application with accessible educational resources and recommendations based on the most up to date clinical practice guidelines can help mitigate these issues. VIRTUES is a digital healthcare application that targets 11 modifiable modules as follows: 1. antithrombotic management 2. lipid management 3. rate and rhythm control for atrial fibrillation 4. heart failure care 5. post myocardial infarction care 6. blood sugar management 7. blood pressure management 8. physical activity 9. healthy eating 10. smoking cessation 11. alcohol reduction Of the 11 total modules, the first 7 listed provide recommendations in VIRTUES. The remaining 4 (physical activity, healthy eating, smoking cessation and alcohol reduction) consist of simple referrals to existing recommendations (i.e., for healthy eating and physical exercise) and referrals to existing local programs (i.e., for smoking cessation and alcohol reduction). Thus, in this cohort study, the investigators will test the primary 7 modules with 200 patients per module for approximately one month each in order to obtain feedback on the usability of each module. The investigators will also conduct virtual focus group discussions to obtain open ended feedback on the application. This study will provide valuable feedback, which will be used to improve and adapt the VIRTUES application.
Arrhythmias early in the recovery period after cardio thoracic surgery are common they develop in 11 to 40 percent of patients after coronary-artery bypass grafting. The right chose of sedative agent could decrease the level of arrhythmia incidence.
Prior multicenter study demonstrated superiority of PURE EP to conventional mapping. This superiority was seen when comparing small, fractionated signals of interest, near-field vs far-field distinction, and general signal quality (2). Hence, investigators propose a retrospective study to assess the predictive value of high frequency algorithm (HFA) for identifying local physiologic signal under 0.3 mV distinctive of noise.
The purpose of this study to assess the longitudinal changes in left atrial strain and supraventricular arrhythmia burden after chemotherapeutic strategies in cardiac light chain amyloidosis.
Ventricular tachycardia (VT) is a malignant cardiac arrhythmia subjecting our patients to a high risk of sudden death, increased morbidity and reduced quality of life. Unfortunately, failure of treatment is common and VT recurrences remain an important concern. In these patients, stereotactic arrhythmia radiotherapy appears to be an effective and safe treatment. The mechanism of action however remains unknown and should be elucidated. The objective of this phase 2, single arm, monocenter, pre-post intervention study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of stereotactic arrhythmia radiotherapy and obtain insights in the mechanism of action by evaluating electro-anatomical alterations of stereotactic arrhythmia radiotherapy in patients with therapy refractory ventricular tachycardia.
The purpose of this study is to describe the Huawei'ssoftware ("Arrhythmia Analysis Software") for the detection of atrial fibrillation, premature beats, and sinus rhythm using photoplethysmography (PPG). Data derived from a wearable device with a PPG sensor (watch or band) in patients with light skin or dark skin tones will be used as an index test. The Huawei software is intended as a pre-screening technology. It should identify candidates who may benefit from further evaluation. The software is not intended to be a diagnostic system.
