Clinical Study of YYJD Decoction Combined With Gefitinib in Advanced Pulmonary Adenocarcinoma

The investigators performed a multi-centered, randomized, double blinded, placebo-controlled, prospective clinical trial on the effect of Yiqi-yangyin-jiedu decoction (YYJD), a chinese herbal medicine (CHM) formula combined with gefitinib to prolong the progression free survival (PFS) of advanced pulmonary adenocarcinoma patients with activating EGFR mutation (exon19del or exon21L858R). The investigators plan to enroll 198 cases in 3 years (99 cases for gefitinib, 99 cases for gefitinib plus YYJD), expecting that combination therapy has a better efficacy on prolonging PFS, overall survival, improving quality of life(QOL).

Clinical Study of Chinese Medicine Plus Targeted Therapy Maintenance in Advanced Pulmonary Adenocarcinoma

The investigators performed a randomized, double blind controlled, prospective study method on observation of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) combined with targeted therapy maintenance to prolong the efficacy of long-term survival of advanced pulmonary adenocarcinoma patients. The investigators plan to involve 200 cases for observation in 3 years (100 cases for targeted therapy maintenance, 100 cases for targeted therapy maintenance plus TCM,), expecting that integrated TCM combined with targeted maintenance therapy has a better efficacy on prolonging progression-free survival time, overall survival, improving quality of life(QOL) of patients than that of targeted maintenance therapy.

Anti-Mesothelin Antibody Drug Conjugate Anetumab Ravtansine for Mesothelin Expressing Lung Adenocarcinoma

Background: Anetumab ravtansine is a new drug. It kills cancer cells that carry mesothelin. That is a protein on the surface of tumor cells in many types of tumors, including most lung cancers. Researchers want to find a safe dose for the study drug for lung cancer. They want to see if it can shrink tumors in mesothelin-positive lung cancer. Objectives: To test the safety and effectiveness of anetumab ravtansine for lung cancer. Eligibility: Adults 18 years and older who have lung cancer that has gotten worse on other therapy Design: Participants will be screened with: Medical history Physical exam Tumor tissue sample. This can be from a previous procedure. Blood and urine tests Heart tests Scans. For one scan, a small amount of radioactive substance is injected into the blood. Eye exam The study will have 21-day cycles. On day 1 of each cycle, participants will get the study drug through a tube inserted in a vein. Participants will repeat a heart test in cycles 1 and 2. They will have blood tests weekly in cycle 1, twice in all other cycles. They will have scans every 6 weeks for the first 6 months, every 9 weeks until the end of year 2, then every 12 weeks. Participants will have samples of tumor tissue taken twice. About 30 days after stopping the study drug, participants will have a follow-up visit. This will include medical history, physical exam, blood and pregnancy tests, and heart and eye tests. Some will be called a few times a year to discuss their health and treatment.

Nivolumab and Ipilimumab in Treating Patients With Rare Tumors

This phase II trial studies nivolumab and ipilimumab in treating patients with rare tumors. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as nivolumab and ipilimumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. This trial enrolls participants for the following cohorts based on condition: 1. Epithelial tumors of nasal cavity, sinuses, nasopharynx: A) Squamous cell carcinoma with variants of nasal cavity, sinuses, and nasopharynx and trachea (excluding laryngeal, nasopharyngeal cancer [NPC], and squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck [SCCHN]) B) Adenocarcinoma and variants of nasal cavity, sinuses, and nasopharynx (closed to accrual 07/27/2018) 2. Epithelial tumors of major salivary glands (closed to accrual 03/20/2018) 3. Salivary gland type tumors of head and neck, lip, esophagus, stomach, trachea and lung, breast and other location (closed to accrual) 4. Undifferentiated carcinoma of gastrointestinal (GI) tract 5. Adenocarcinoma with variants of small intestine (closed to accrual 05/10/2018) 6. Association of Bone and Metabolic Parameters With Overall Survival in Patients With Bone Metastases From Adenocarcinoma Lung Cancer (POUMOS)

Mortality due to non small cell lung cancers is the first cause of cancer death in men around the world. Lung adenocarcinoma regularly induces bone metastases responsible for high morbidity and impaired life quality. Overall survival of these patients is poor. Thus the investigators aimed to identify if some bone and metabolic parameters were associated with overall survival. Patients and Methods POUMOS is a prospective cohort of patients suffering from adenocarcinoma lung cancers with a first bone metastasis (stage IV). All patients have a bone biopsy with molecular status characterization of the tumor for EGFR, KRAS, BRAF and ALK. Bone metastasis localizations are obtained by bone scintigraphy or FDG-PET/CT. Whole body composition is obtained by DEXA scan (Hologic®). The investigators assessed also fasting blood levels of bone and metabolic biomarkers. Survival analyses will be performed using a proportional hazard regression model.
