Mollii Suit and Fibromyalgia (EXOFIB 2)

The goal of this clinical trial is to demonstrate the improvement of fibromyalgia syndrome obtained following active stimulation compared to sham, with diminished functional disability and improved health status using Exopulse Molli suit stimulation. The main questions it aims to answer are: Evaluation of pain, fatigue, mood and quality of life changes observed after active stimulation in comparison to sham. Improvement of fibromyalgia syndrome as per the Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ) Study subjects will participate in: A randomized sham controlled double-blind trial to demonstrate the improvement of pain, quality of life, fatigue and mood in adult patients with fibromyalgia following a 2-week intervention of "active" versus "sham" Exopulse Mollii suit. A 2-week washout period should be enough to prevent a potential carry over effect. After this phase (phase 1), a second open label phase (phase 2) will be proposed for patients to understand the effects of Exopulse Mollii suit employed for 4 weeks (7 sessions per week) on the studied outcomes.

Awareness About Rheumatic Diseases in a Sample of Syrian Population

The manuscript describes the level of knowledge and awareness about rheumatic diseases in a Syrian population. we found that awareness of rheumatic diseases is mostly bad and very bad in our sample. Also, we showed how the level of awareness changes due to the change of many factors such as (sex, age, residency, education, marital status, and others ). Our community-based survey was the first conducted in Syria. we have included a total of 641 participants who were directed to the first part of the survey to complete questions around socio-demographic data and awareness questions about rheumatic diseases. We ranked our participants into five levels: excellent, good, average, bad, and very bad. Finally, we compared our results with other 4 original published studies, and we found many Boolean points of similarity and many other inspiring points of difference.

Smoking Cessation Support for Patients With Rheumatologic Diseases Via WhatsApp

Smoking cessation support for patients with rheumatologist diseases is an underestimated issue. In the previous prospective cohort study the investigators determined that with the brief cessation interventions 63.5% of smokers with rheumatologic diseases were willing to quit and the rest 36.4% were not willing. Among the willing group the highest quit rate was detected in the group that admitted to smoking cessation clinic. Therefore to increase the willingness to quit as well as to increase the Access to evidence based tobacco cessation support using new comminication technologies can be relevant. Investigators' aim in this study is to examine the effect of including WhatsApp in the routine smoking cessation practices on the quitting success of active smokers with rheumatic diseases who apply to the Rheumatology outpatient clinic.

The diagnosis of chronic inflammatory rheumatism with axial involvement is not always easy, and is fraught with difficulties : radiological sacroiliitis is not an early sign of spondyloarthritis and the delay in detecting radiological signs contributes to the delay in diagnosis. Nevertheless, spondyloarthritis is now the second most common chronic inflammatory rheumatic disease, affecting 0.43% of the french population. The aim of this retrospective study is to evaluate the diagnostic performance of whole-body SPECT-CT CzT-based camera (VERITON-CT) in the assessment of chronic inflammatory rheumatism with axial involvement and especially of the sacroiliac joints. MRI of the sacroiliac joints was used as a gold standard.

Chronic inflammatory rheumatism (CIR) is a group of inflammatory diseases that affect the joints and spine and are related to an abnormal immune response. CIR includes many different forms of arthritis that manifest as painful and swollen joints, stiffness, especially in the morning and persisting even after exercise, and limited joint mobility. CIR can also affect bones, cartilage, ligaments, tendons and muscles. Some may affect other organs. These symptoms can lead to a reduced quality of life, limited physical activity and progressive structural and functional deterioration of the joints. Current treatment for CIR is aimed at reducing inflammation and relieving pain. Anti-inflammatory medications such as corticosteroids and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can be used to relieve pain and inflammation. Biotherapies can also be used to modify the progression of the disease. On the other hand, regular exercise can help strengthen the muscles that support the affected joints and improve mobility. Physical therapies, such as physical and occupational therapy, can also help improve mobility and relieve pain. Although there is no definitive cure for CIR early and appropriate treatment can help reduce symptoms and improve quality of life, as well as avoid the risk of developing complications such as lung, cardiovascular, kidney, ophthalmic, liver and other diseases. It is in this context, in order to better understand CIR to improve the global management of patients, and to analyze the evolution of CIR over time in relation to the different treatments proposed, that the interest in creating a database of patients with CIR arises.

After basic clinical screening including history and physical, Point of care ultrasound will be performed to look at Mitral, Aortic and Tricuspid Valves for regurgitation or stenosis. For patients with confirmed Rheumatic heart disease (RHD), treatment and referral depending on stage of disease. Antibiotic prescription could be shifted to community health workers delivering preventive medications via practical clinical algorithms, diagnostic tools, availability of appropriate antibiotics, and supportive supervision. Patients will have repeat imaging at 2 years and 5 years to look at the outcome of delayed progression of valve disease.

Study of Gynecological Follow-up of Patients With Autoimmune Disease or Inflammatory Rheumatism

Autoimmune diseases are the consequence of an abnormality of the immune system, leading it to attack components of our own body. They have a wide variety of presentations. They preferentially affect women, and often at a young age. Systemic lupus erythematosus, for example, most often occurs between the ages of 15 and 40. Inflammatory rheumatism, such as spondyloarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis, is less prevalent in women, but also affects young people, and is particularly common. Several disease-modifying treatments exist, depending on the severity and evolutivitý of the disease. Some are contraindicated or not recommended during pregnancy and therefore require supervision of pregnancy plans. In addition, some treatments have an immunosuppressive activitý, which implies an annual screening of cervical lesions by cervico-uterine smear. In this context, an adapted gynecological follow-up seems indispensable. The rheumatologist and the internist physician have a crucial role in advising and referring patients to their gynecological colleagues. Studying the qualitý of this gynecological follow-up in a cohort of patients with autoimmune disease or inflammatory rheumatism is of major interest.
