Prevalence and Risk Factor of Post-intensive Care Syndrome in Neuro-ICU

Post-intensive care syndrome (PICS) is the set of disabling symptoms that can appear or worsen following a stay in intensive care. These symptoms are physical, cognitive, or psychiatric. The onset and persistence of these symptoms have a major impact on patients' quality of life, their autonomy, and their social and professional reintegration. patients with neurological diseases are frequently excluded from studies due to difficulties for the non-specialist resuscitator to perform the neurological examination and assess whether the symptoms of RPS are secondary to brain damage or complications inherent in resuscitation.The aim of this study is to evaluate the incidence and characteristics of PICS in patients with neurological diseases, at ICU discharge and 3 months after, and to identify the risk factors for developing it.

Improving Outcomes in PICS With Home-Based Program of Rehabilitation and Health Coaching

The purpose of this study is to gather information on the effectiveness of a home-based rehabilitation program that also includes health coaching in patients who may suffer from post-intensive care syndrome (PICS). Many patients who are admitted to a hospital ICU suffer from new or worsening symptoms related to their medical condition and ICU care. These new or worsening symptoms may persist for some time and are collectively called post-intensive care syndrome (PICS).

Virtual Care to Improve Post-Intensive Care Syndrome

The goal of this interventional trial is to learn about whether a virtual clinic can help patients with post-intensive care unit syndrome regain functional ability. Participants will participate in a 12-month online clinic where they will receive physiotherapy, nutritional planning, mental health support and cognitive strengthening. Functional capacity will be measured throughout the clinic. After, they will be asked questions about their clinic experience, and complete a questionnaire.

Functional Capacity in Survivors of COVID-19 Related ARDS

Acute respiratory distress syndrome survivors frequently develop impaired physical function, muscle weakness and quality of life. The aim of this retrospective study is to determine the functional capacity, global muscle weakness and quality of life of COVID-19 survivors after 4 weeks following hospital discharge and the relationship between different tools. COVID-19 related acute respiratory distress syndrome survivors were assessed 4 weeks following discharge from the hospital, 15 patients who attended the evaluation will be included the study. All subjects underwent standardized physical clinical evaluation, Medical Research Council-sumscore, hand-grip strength, 6-minute walk test, chair-stand test, timed up and go test and Short form-36, 4 weeks after hospital discharge.
