Physical education stands as a collaborative, bilateral activity essential for the development and improvement of young people's physical qualities and plays a pivotal role in youth sports promotion. Volleyball offers a blend of aerobic and anaerobic exercises, developing muscle strength, bone density, cardiovascular health, and fine-tuning the nervous system. It is effective in improving physical attributes such as strength, speed, agility, endurance, and coordination, which are crucial for holistic student development and success in the standardized PE entrance examinations for senior high school. Recent trends have highlighted a decline in physical fitness among youth, as evidenced by rising obesity rates and increasing failure rates in fitness assessments. To counteract this, the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China 2021 has initiated a shift towards "specialised physical education," integrating health knowledge with basic and specialised motor skills training. This innovative educational model hopes to improve student physical fitness across educational tiers. Therefore, this study chose volleyball specialised physical education as an intervention to study the effect of physical fitness and The PE entrance examination for senior high school performance of middle school students.

Effects of Circuit Training Combine With Square-Stepping Exercise, Strength Training and Balance Training on Senior Fitness and Fall Risk in Elderly in the Community

According to the cause of death statistics compiled by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in 2022, among the causes of death among the elderly, falls ranked second among the causes of death from accidental injuries over the age of 65. Exercise has been proven to prevent falls in many studies, especially Square-Stepping Exercise can not only train strength and balance, but also improve cognitive function and reduce the fear of falling in the elderly. Therefore, this study will use Square-Stepping Exercise as the core and circuit training as the structure to design a set of exercise training that combines muscle strength and balance and is easy to implement in the community. The purpose of the study is to determine whether exercise training that combines circuit training with block stepping, muscle strength, and balance exercises can reduce the risk of falls among elderly people in the community (primary results: muscle strength, flexibility, cardiorespiratory endurance, balance; secondary results: cognitive function, Fear of falling, fall rate). This study will collect participant in the community, and subjects will be randomly assigned to the experimental group and the control group on a community basis. The experimental group will receive 12 weeks of exercise training, while the control group will follow their usual lifestyle, with 48 people in each group. The experimental design is exercise intervention for 12 weeks, twice a week, 90 minutes each time (30 minutes of main exercise). The exercise is designed into two stages according to the difficulty of Square-Stepping Exercise. The training of muscle strength and dynamic/static balance will also gradually increase in difficulty over the weeks. The research look forward to seeing the effects of multi-component exercise on physical fitness, cognitive function, fear of falling and fall rate.

A Home-based Exercise and Physical Activity Intervention After Liver Transplantation: Impact of Exercise Intensity

Research demonstrated that transplant recipients benefit from physical activity, but there is a gap in knowledge regarding the required intensity. In the PHOENIX-Liver study, researchers aim to investigate the adequate intensity of rehabilitation programs after liver transplantation. Patients will be randomized into one of the three PHOENIX-Liver training groups (low, moderate, moderate to high). The six months rehabilitation program is conducted from the patient's home but supervised by a PHOENIX-investigator. At baseline, after three months of rehabilitation and after six months of rehabilitation, a test moment takes place at which physical fitness, cardiovascular health, liver function, and body composition will be assessed. Questionnaires are taken monthly to survey well-being, safety, quality of life, physical activity, and cost-effectiveness. To gather information on the potential for implementation in a real-world setting, a 15-month-long physical activity phase will start after the intervention phase. This entails a maintenance physical activity program tailored to the patients' preferences. A follow-up at UZ Leuven is planned at three and at 15 months where the same clinical evaluations will be conducted as during the test moments of the intervention phase.

The incidence and prevalence of metabolic risk factors such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia, as well as cardiovascular diseases (CVD), are continuously rising among the occupational population in China, primarily comprising the middle-aged and young adults. Unhealthy lifestyles and declining physical fitness are independent risk factors affecting cardiovascular health. Additionally, the level of physical fitness is influenced by postnatal lifestyles. Lifestyle factors related to cardiovascular health in the occupational population encompass various aspects, including smoking, physical activity, diet, sleep, psychological stress, etc. These factors may interact or have a synergistic effect, necessitating a comprehensive assessment. This project proposes a prospective cohort study design to establish a monitoring cohort for lifestyle and physical fitness among the occupational population. The study will track and follow individuals with or without any CVD metabolic risk factors, collecting information on general status, lifestyle, physical fitness, and health examination data. Exposure factors such as lifestyle and physical fitness will be measured annually, and the occurrence of CVD-related health outcomes will be observed. The aim is to develop a comprehensive evaluation index for cardiovascular health lifestyle, analyze the direct and indirect impacts of lifestyle and physical fitness on the occurrence and development of CVD, and explore potential mediating and moderating effects of physical fitness in the association between lifestyle and cardiovascular health.

Home-based Exercise and Physical Activity Intervention After Kidney Transplantation: Impact of Exercise Intensity

This multicentre two-phased RCT aims to evaluate implementation potential, cost-effectiveness, effectiveness, and the role of exercise intensity of a home-based exercise and physical activity intervention to improve de novo kidney transplant recipients' physical fitness, cardiovascular health, gut microbiome characteristics, and health-related quality of life. The first phase of this study comprehends a six-month exercise training intervention. Patients will be randomized into (i) a sham intervention consisting of low-intensity balance and stretching exercises (LIT), (ii) a moderate-intensity aerobic and strength training intervention (MIT), or (iii) a moderate- and high-intensity aerobic and strength training intervention (MHIT). The second phase of this study comprehends a physical activity maintenance intervention provided to MIT and MHIT but not LIT. A total of 147 de novo kidney transplant recipients will be recruited from two independent Belgian transplant centres i.e. UZ Leuven and UZ Ghent.

The Effect of Video Game-Based Exercises After Open Heart Surgery

The aim of the study is to investigate the effects of video game-based exercises applied in addition to the cardiac rehabilitation program applied after open heart surgery, on pulmonary function and functional independence in the acute state. After ethics committee approval is received; Patients who volunteer to participate in the study will be divided into two groups by simple random method. The first group will be given a 12-week cardiac rehabilitation program after bypass surgery, and the second group will be given video game-based exercise training together with the cardiac rehabilitation program for 12 weeks. It is planned to apply the cardiac rehabilitation program to both groups twice a day during the postoperative period until hospital discharge. The patient's cardiac rehabilitation program after hospital discharge will be carried out in the cardiac rehabilitation unit three days a week. Effect of PAP on Lower Limb Explosive Force in Basketball Players in CHINA

The phenomenon that high-intensity warm-up activities help improve muscle strength and explosive performance is called post-activation potentiation (PAP), which is a warm-up method that uses high-intensity stimulation to induce the activation of more type II muscle fibers. However, the results of studies exploring the enhancing effect of PAP on lower limb explosive strength are still controversial. In studies with no significant difference, it is believed that there are many factors that affect PAP, such as activation method, activation intensity, recovery time and individual factors, etc., and it is difficult to control during implementation. In addition, traditional warm-up methods such as jogging and stretching have been shown to have limited effectiveness in improving athletes' performance. In the past, there have been many studies on the combination of PAP and lower limb explosive strength, but there are almost no studies on the long-term effects of PAP on the lower limb explosive strength of basketball players. Therefore, this study studies the characteristics of PAP in order to find the best activation scheme for PAP, and then combines the enhancement effect of PAP with the explosive power of the lower limbs to improve the explosive power of the lower limbs of basketball players, and verifies the long-term effect of combining PAP with explosive power training.
