This is a Study to Evaluate if Music Therapy Can Reduce Stress and Increase Satisfaction of Patients Undergoing Ambulatory Surgery

Patients who undergo outpatient surgery according to normal practice will be divided into two groups. The first group (17 patients), before and after their surgery, will listen to relaxing music, namely a slower tempo music that can quiet mind and make patients feel soothed. The second group (17 patients) will follow the standard surgical pathways according to normal clinical practice, in particular they will not listen to relaxing music. A questionnaire to evaluate stress and satisfaction will be administered to all the patients before their discharge

MYLENE is a prospective, multicenter, NIS to evaluate the patient and HCP satisfaction of sc and iv application of daratumumab in routine clinical practice in Germany. Patients observed in this study will be transplant ineligible NDMM patients for which the physician foresees an anti-myeloma therapy using DRd regimen as per local label. 250 NDMM patients treated with DRd will be enrolled (excluding screening failures, i.e., enrolled patients not fulfilling selection criteria identified before treatment start will be replaced) within 12 months in a proportion of approximately 1/3 patients receiving daratumumab sc and 2/3 patients receiving daratumumab iv as per physician's decision.

Pharmaceutical Intervention Program at Readmission and User Satisfaction in a Emergency Department

A randomized clinical trial with two parallel groups (control and intervened) in the Emergency Department (ED) at the Clinical Hospital of the University of Chile will take place. The sample will be of 996 patients (498 per group). The control group will receive hospital care and discharge plan usual, while the intervention group also receive a Program of Pharmaceutical Interventions while in the service and at discharge, which includes an analysis of the therapy recommended by the physician, assessing the safer alternatives for the patient population and the special conditions of their pathology, emphasizing evaluations of effectiveness, safety and tolerability of medication, drug interactions, potential adverse events, dose adjustments as needed according to the patient's condition ; verification that the administration is optimal, including choosing the best route to this and the time when the drugs are infused into the patient.Interventions aimed at patient occur during the stay and at discharge, focusing on clarifying administration regimens, reasons for using drugs, prevent drug-related problems, clarify doubts and educate about pharmacotherapy and make a reinforcement of adherence. The selection and patient recruitment will take place during the first hour of admission to care box, where they were invited to participate and signed informed consent. In both groups, a doctor and a pharmacist, blind to treatment assignment, will gather information during the stay, discharge and post-discharge, the latter by telephone 30 days after discharge from the ED, in this second interview also verify the existence of a readmission and / or unscheduled medical consultation. In addition, discharge of each patient satisfaction was measured with respect to the service received by a user satisfaction survey applied by external and impartial staff. In addition, two independent trained evaluators (Emergency Medical and Pharmaceutical Chemistry), blinded to treatment assignment, evaluate the background of each case and by consensus allocated the presence of problems related to drugs, and classified as preventable or not preventable, according severity. X2 test or Fisher exact test was used to test the hypothesis that the Programme of Pharmaceutical Interventions decreases at least 30% the user dissatisfaction compared with usual care in the ED.

Resetting the Default: Improving Provider-patient Communication to Reduce Antibiotic Misuse

Antibiotic overuse and misuse contributes to the development of antibiotic resistant infections and adverse drug reactions. The majority of all antibiotic prescribing occurs in outpatient settings; most of which are for respiratory illnesses. It is estimated that 50% of these prescriptions are unnecessary. The most important factor that leads to overprescribing is inadequate parent-provider communication. This study will recruit providers and eligible parents of children 1-5 years of age. Parents in both arms will receive identical brief antibiotic education via tablet computers. Providers will be randomized to the parent-provider education or communication skills intervention arm and trained accordingly. Parent data will be collected via a tablet computer RedCap survey administered in the exam room prior and immediately following the child's visit. Additional data will be garnered from the medical record (antibiotic prescribing) and a 2-week follow-up telephone call with parents (re-visits and adverse drug reactions).
