There are about 28871 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Canada. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
The purpose of the proposed study is to compare the acute effects of different types of exercise modalities on glucose handling in young, healthy males and females. The exercise modalities that will be compared include: a high intensity interval exercise (HIIE) protocol, a moderate intensity continuous exercise (MICE) protocol and a low-load, high-repetition (LL-HR) resistance exercise protocol.
Comparative bioavailability of valproate from Orfiril long 500 mg prolonged-release mini-tablets and Ergenyl chrono 500 mg prolonged-release tablets in healthy, male volunteers under fasting conditions.
to evaluate the comparative bioavailability of valproate from Orfiril long 500 mg prolonged release minitablets and Ergenyl chrono 500 mg prolonged-release tablets in healthy, male volunteers under fasting and fed conditions.
Differences in metabolites of dihydroberberine (DHB) and micellar berberine (LipoMicel®, LMB) are investigated through a randomized study involving human volunteers. Over a 24-hour period, blood samples are collected and subjected to Ultra High-Performance Liquid Chromatography-High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (UHPLC-HRMS) analysis to quantify the concentrations of berberine and its metabolites.
The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the momentary effects of a one-session intervention (compassion-based, logic-based, or placebo control) on individuals with high or low trait self-criticism. The main questions it aims to answer are: After a momentary shame induction, will a compassion-based intervention and a logic-based intervention both be more beneficial than a placebo control condition in terms of therapeutic outcomes? Will the compassion-based intervention most effectively increase soothing affect, state self-compassion, and state self-reassurance? Will the effects of these two interventions (1) differ as a function of the individual's trait self-criticism, and (2) will this be due to differing indirect effects of the intervention on safe/soothed feelings based on trait self-criticism? Participants will first complete a set of baseline measures. Two to seven days later, they will be randomly assigned to one of three study conditions (i.e., compassion-based, logic-based, placebo control) after a brief shame induction. Participants will be asked to complete a set of questionnaires both before and after the shame induction as well as post-intervention. This research will help us understand how best to intervene with the shame and self-criticism.
To assess the bioequivalence of lamotrigine from Lamotrigin Desitin 100 mg tablets and Lamictal 100 mg Tablet.
Cranberry is a fruit native to North America that is widely grown in Quebec and has been shown to have the highest antioxidant capacity among the most commonly eaten fruits. Consequently, consuming cranberries prior to exercising may help to improve exercise endurance by preventing accumulation of reactive oxygen species. For aerobic endurance, in order to maintain a certain pace for a long duration, runners need to effectively neutralize reactive oxygen species. Although it is not the only component involved in running, offsetting reactive oxygen species should improve running performance. To test this, we plan to investigate the effects, both acute and chronic, of a cranberry extract on the oxygen consumption in 18-35 year old males and females. The present research project will contribute to expand our knowledge of how cranberry extract can exert a positive effect, and thus improve aerobic performance or even every day life. This project can benefit a wide range of the population, from sedentary individuals and older adults to elite athletes by providing an all-natural supplement alternative.
The goal of this randomized, controlled, single-center study is to compare the effects of Emdogain®, a regenerative biomaterial, on post-operative pain, wound healing and inflammation of treated sites after surgical crown lengthening. The main question it aims to answer is: Does the use of Emdogain® in conjunction with crown lengthening surgery improve post-operative soft-tissue healing, decrease inflammation and reduce patient perception of pain compared to crown lengthening without addition of Emdogain®? The treatment group will receive Emdogain® during surgery, and the control group will undergo standard crown lengthening without Emdogain®.
This study is being done to test the feasibility of a personalized nutrition eating plan in adolescents with depression. Evidence suggests that dietary quality may affect an individual's mood. A healthy diet includes vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds, and olive oil, as well as minimally processed whole grains, legumes, and moderate amounts of lean meat, fish, and dairy. The investigators will examine the feasibility of a personalized nutrition eating plan for children and youth with depression. Previous research has shown that it helps improve depressive symptoms in adults, but it is not clear if the same is true for children and youth.
The objective of this trial is to compare the bioavailability (AUC, Tmax, and Cmax) of different Coenzyme Q10 preparations in healthy adults. Pharmacokinetic parameters of orally ingested CoQ10 such as AUC, Cmax and Tmax, as well as the ratio of reduced CoQ10 levels to total CoQ10 plasma levels (using the AUC) after administration are compared.
